I commented this on another post in this subreddit: The "another-post-in-this-subreddit" and after reading it over, I felt like it should be opened up for discussion as a full on post, and not just buried in the comments of another post. (I also edited it a tad just so that it makes sense in the format of a post and not in the format of a response to a comment.. wait, am I Angus McSix-ing my own comment?? Haha all jokes all jokes)

Honestly I resonate a lot with this (The "another-post-in-this-subreddit"). I would consider myself a huge Gloryhammer fan, like I'm into all of the lore and everything, I just think it's super cool and interesting. They take themselves seriously enough to write good lore and make great music, but they keep it light and silly with Evil Wizards and Zombie Unicorns and Laser Viking Gods and the 18th Hell Dimension and (no spoilers) the "thing" that happened at the end of Album 2 (ka-boom). It's fun and goofy and far-fetched and crazy, but it's taken seriously enough for there to be a lot to love about it.

I'm really hype for the new Gloryhammer album, especially considering Fly Away was an ABSOLUTE banger (it was my number one song on Spotify wrapped, followed by Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny) and the new teaser for the Zargothrax song just dropped (which is also really good). Also Sozos's cover of Legendary Enchanted Jetpack on YT was really good in my opinion. I can't wait for the Return to the Kingdom of Fife!!

With that being said, I've also been hype for whatever is happening with Angus McSix. Whatever people think, if it's good music, and something Gloryhammer-esque, I'd be happy with that. Not many other bands have a Gloryhammer feel to it and having another band like that would be super sick in my opinion. I think the longtime face of Angus Mcfife getting fired, just for him to make a spinoff band is the most "Gloryhammer thing" that could have come from that situation.

Also I can understand the argument about Tom's originality from both sides. On one hand, Angus Mcfife isn't his character, and ripping it off from Gloryhammer is black and white, unoriginal. Also I can fully understand why Chris would feel a certain type of way about it considering that Angus Mcfife and Gloryhammer are his baby. However, it gets tricky because Tom was Angus Mcfife for the better part of a decade. That'd be like calling Robert Downey Jr unoriginal for making his own Iron Man spinoff. Even though Disney owns Iron Man, he still is Iron Man. I like Sozos and his vocals and if he brings to the table the same energy that he brought for Fly Away, I have no doubt he can fill the roll of Angus Mcfife, and do it very well. However, nobody can disagree that Tom was Angus Mcfife, and I can understand his attachment to the character that, for three albums and nearly 10 years, utilized his voice and his likeness.

I will say that I hope that Tom brings a new energy and something new to the table with his Angus McSix band. I'll never complain about getting extra Gloryhammer, but in ideal world (in my opinion), Tom should try to prove his chops and make a whole new story with a whole new world and all new lore. If he rips off Gloryhammer lore, at that point I'd be a bit disappointed. Especially considering I just spent 5 minutes defending his situation lol.

TL:DR - I don't hate Gloryhammer, Chris, or Tom at all! I'm just glad that we're still getting great music from Gloryhammer and hopefully good music from Angus McSix! Again, Hail Hoots!
