President Chiang had been working overtime. The Mainland had just staged an attempted coup and partially invaded. Every ROC President's nightmare had just come true. Every soldier on Taiwan has been on edge, waiting for the inevitable Chinese followup attack. Johnny Chiang, president for little over a year now, will face the greatest challenge posed to a Chinese President since 1949.

On July 15th, 2025, President Chiang ordered to the Republic of China Armed Forces, as it's commander-in-chief, to be on high alert and ready for any conflicts in the very near future. The Kinmen, Matsu, and Penghu Defense Commands have been placed on the highest alert status and will be ready to defend the islands. Secretly, they are obviously not expected to survive and will attempt to inflict as many casualties on the PLA as possible and to show that the PRC is clearly the aggressor.

Slightly more importantly, are the reservists. The ROCAF Reserve is to be immediately activated and all reservists will report to their nearest army base to be activated. The 24 inactive reserve brigades will be filled with the reservist soldiers and activated effective August 1st 2025. They will have a great role to play in defending Taiwan in the coming months.

In preparation for the obviously upcoming war, the Republic of China high command will retreat to the underground bunkers, tunnel complexes, and prepared command posts. In addition, several highways have been ordered to be converted to landing strips to be used by the Republic of China Air Force.
