Post Body

Insert some kind of innuendo about Deep Battle.

The week before:

India will periodically begin massing aircraft at the border, shutting off communications in the border provinces, and generating a lot of noise with vehicles and helicopters to simulate the beginning of an attack. Mandatory nighttime blackouts will begin.

5:00 AM, September 1, 2026:

Pakistani strategic targets will be hit with a wave of missiles. Targets include half the country's airbases (civilian airports and airbases in the South and West of the country are very conspicuously left untargeted to make it clear that India is not attempting a first strike), several large power plants, Pakistan's largest oil storage facility, and the country's main naval base.

Target Missiles
Army Aviation Base Multan Pralay x 4, KH-59ME x 8
Bahawalpur Airport Prahar x 8

The bombardment will be accompanies with a mass MRLS strike on Pakistani positions in Punjab and Kashmir.

Kashmir:

The hope is to retake Kargil on day 1. Prior to the attack, the sound of helicopters will be used to conceal the movement of the Indian troops to their starting positions. Pakistani positions surrounding the city will be hit with a large number of cruise missiles in addition to the usual ordinance. The steep and winding terrain (and the opponent's lack of effective short-range AA) will protect the cruise missiles on their approach (and hide our helicopters). After the missile and artillery bombardment, our helicopters will finish off any remaining resistance with missiles and rockets while the infantry attacks. If our initial attack fails, the attack from the east and blowing up the bridges on the highway leading to Kargil will hopefully starve the Pakistanis out while we continue to grind them down. After seizing Kargil, our forces have orders to essentially "attack towards Skardu and try to take some land but don't try that hard"

In the south, the only objective is to hold. As the Germans learned the hard way in WW1, when your forward positions are being isolated by artillery, the solution is not to devise increasingly complicated arrangements of your infantry. Instead, it is much more effective to simply have more artillery of your own. With the entire front being compressed into a single road, trying to hold any one position is essentially pointless as the Pakistanis will probably prevent any reinforcements from arriving with artillery. Instead, we'll just hold small roadblocks with dug in infantry and tanks every half a kilometer or so, which will essentially be used as bait for the Pakistanis to mass an attack and reveal their artillery positions, at which point our own artillery and air power will respond.

It took the Azerbijanis a month to penetrate 30km over a wider front against an enemy without modern AA systems, EW equipment, and with total air superiority, we estimate that at worst we'll hold until December, if not later.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani line of supply down south runs through a single road easily visible from the Indian positions across the river, so it goes without saying that even more artillery fire will be directed there.

Western Command

XI Corps with three infantry divisions will surround Lahore and either sit back and flatten most of the city or try to reenact Stalingrad depending on how much resistance they face.

Meanwhile, II Corps will move down the plain between the Ravi and Chenab rivers, while XXI Corps will cross the Chenab within Pakistan, preferably using preexisting bridges, though the river should be narrow enough by mid-September to use both armored bridgelayers and bailey bridges as well. The 14th Rapid Division in II Corps will have the task of securing the east bank of the Ravi to screen against any Pakistani counterattacks from the North foolish enough to try to cross the river. Pakistani armored counterattacks from the south will find themselves outclassed in both numbers and quality while being attacked from both directions. Any infantry resistance should be overcome through indiscriminate use of drone-directed artillery and weight of numbers.

Southwestern Command

Don't do anything lmao

Navy

If the Pakistani Navy tries to leave port all our Submarines are presumably hiding outside of Karachi. That's it.
