The manila envelope landed on the desk of the LKIV^MISiS researchers marked “Особая папка” – special folder. Inside was instructions to, for the first time, direct the quantum research towards a practical application: assist the Union State government and KGB in locating arms smugglers which have caused the death of nearly 100 citizens. The instructions were simple. Using the bitcoin sachet secured last year, LKIV^MISiS quantum computers are to comprehensively analyze all major online black-market arms sites, both on the deep web and on the surface web. One of the two computers is to search for any Russian or Soviet arms listed in the last two years. The second is to use the absolute speed of the quantum technology to I.P. track the TOR proxies to find which of these arms listings trace back to Russia or Byelorussia. Though a conventional computer would take years to track through the proxy connections on the TOR network, we would like to use quantum technology to “outrace” TOR technology.

Any data recovered from this research is to be sent immediately to the Union State government, while any performance data on the quantum computers will be logged and retained by the LKIV researchers. This will be a valuable test to the TOR performance of quantum technology, and one potential practical application.
