Nov/Dec 2020
With the pandemic consuming global attention and effort, now is the time for the Libyan National Army to deliver the final blow to the illegitimate government in Tripoli. The LNA has long tried to strike directly at the heart of Tripoli, which has consistently proved inconclusive. The leadership of the LNA has concluded that a new approach must be taken in order to bring the civil war to a rapid conclusion. The anchor of the Tripoli government are the two cities of Tripoli and Misrata. Driving a wedge between the two cities will allow for more effective operations to capture them both. With the extended calm due to the virus, the LNA hopes that the element of surprise will aid the operation.
