Tourism is an important factor to the Iranian economy. Despite being under economic sanctions, Iran pushes forward to make a better country for all.
However, in the last few years, tourists have been shying away from the country while locals are not spending their money either on domestic tourism. Both have had an impact on the economy.
The government of Iran has begun a search for willing investors and international hotel chains to open up more rooms and locations in Iran. This mostly includes European hotel chains. Iran believes that this will lead to more opportunities for both domestic and foreign tourists to explore Iran and will ultimately lead to the tourist sector of Iran growing. Iran has also announced plans to further relax visa laws as well.
Iran hopes to achieve its goal of 20 million tourists in 2025, bringing the world and Iran just a bit closer, while showing the world the beauty and culture of Iran.
