In his first diplomatic move since being in office, PM Saluk Samrin has decided to meet with Lu Hao, president of the People's Republic of China in order to further strengthen economic ties with both countries, and of course, increase Cambodia's economy .

After meeting with the Chinese president, Saluk has proposed certain measures that will certainly benefit both countries:

• Preferential treatment in the Cambodian garment industry, not only will Chinese entrepeneurs be able to buy permits and licenses with a lot more ease, they will also be able to buy certain garments with a discount, this is to further friendship with the PRC and of course, stimulate the economy of Cambodia.
• Cambodia will recognize the nine-dash line as the rightful territory of China in the South China sea.
• Cambodia will stymie any attempts by ASEAN to collectively negotiate, forcing all parties to negotiate bilaterally and help China in the process.
• Cambodia will also participate in diplomatic meetings and military drills with Laos in order to further their relationship with the PRC.

Cambodia, however, desires economic growth and of course, wants to help the people of Cambodia to prosper, and as such it proposes:

• Chinese investment in the building of hydroelectric dams using surplus material from previous Chinese dams and of course, the investment of money to make sure that the dams are built as fast as possible and with utmost safety.
• Chinese aid in the building of infrastructure for the rural population of Cambodia, this will help Cambodia bring progress to the rural population.
• Chinese protection from Vietnam, we desire that the PRC guarantees a mutual defense agreement with Cambodia, as it feels threatened by Vietnam and does not want another Vietnamese invasion happening.

In an official comment, Saluk Samrin said:

I think it's a great first move to bring us closer to the PRC, they have been our friends for thousands of years and hopefully for many more years to come, we desire nothing but friendship and economic prosperity for both nations.
