The 2019 Federal Assembly Elections have rolled around, and with them it has become clear that the Swiss people have decided to uphold the previous government coalition of the SVP/UDC, SP/PS, FDP/PLR, and the CVP/PDC.
Seat Changes are as Such:
Party | Seats Gained | Seats Lost |
---|---|---|
SVP/UDC | 4 | 1 |
SP/PS | 5 | 0 |
FDP/PLR | 4 | 0 |
CVP/PDC | 0 | 3 |
Greens | 0 | 2 |
Green Liberals | 0 | 5 |
Conservative Democrats | 1 | 0 |
Evangelical People's Party | 0 | 0 |
Lega | 0 | 0 |
General satisfaction with the state of the government and its policies have ensured that the status quo is to be upheld for the next 4 years. The new layout for the Federal Council will be announced soon as the government determines whether or not to maintain Alain Berset or to rebalance the Council to better reflect the (albeit rather minute) shift in seats.
