I claimed Poland way back, but shortly afterwards was not able to keep up with the subreddit, and I apologize for that. I've got the time to come back now, and have decided to take on a smaller nation to make that easier.
In the few years since the fall of the Castros, the transition to democracy has been difficult for Cuba. Despite the highs that President Moya enjoyed once the Cubans had been liberated, challenges and discontentment had compounded seemingly daily. American troops had helped the democratic government to defeat some elements of the old communist regime, but the Cuban people deeply resented the presence of the American soldiers. Memories of a time when Cuba was, for all intents and purposes, a colony of the US resurfaced quickly. While few wanted American aid to the island to stop, demonstrations demanding American troops withdraw began to grow. Accusations of "imperialism" and "colonization" began to creep into the public debate, both from the right and from the left.
Calls for a new constitution, which had been an assumption of many when the Castros fell, began to grow. International experts believe President Moya's center-left coalition will fail, but are deeply divided on what will happen next.
