As the former government of the DRC strengthens its despotic hold over the coastal panhandle, the rebels have begun to assist each other in consolidation. With the temporary ceasing of exports the economy is crashing, and a united front is needed in order to take the coastline and regain access to global shipping lanes. A meeting of the powerful rebel factions came together in Kananga to discuss the future of the new state. They agreed that a leader was needed or else the movement would fracture and the former government would retake the lands they lost. But nobody could seem to agree on a head of state... Until Mr. René Soto arrived on the scene. A native Congolese who travelled around the world as a teenager and young man and got his education in the United States and in China, he studied economics and genetic engineering. But when he heard of his country's turmoil he made the trek back to his homeland. He loved the idea of a new and benevolent Congo, and upon arriving back in the DRC through a route in the Republic of the Congo, we started fighting. He gathered a following and showed his intelligence and generosity. Soon he was in control of the faction in Katanga, helping the farmers along and exporting the produce to the other factions. René Soto soon became one of the most respected men in the country, and when he was offered the position of leading a united rebellion he happily accepted.
René Soto journeyed around his new country and met with as many people as possible. He knew many languages, and was therefore able to converse with the men of even the most isolated of villages deep in the jungle. He organized the new militia forces and nationalized mines and quarries to ensure that worker safety was a top priority. Every city celebrated his arrival, and he was loved by the country.
Except the part of the country that the Democratic Republican government still held control over. Bas-Congo and Kinshasa were still under their increasingly autocratic grip. Nobody was allowed to travel outside or inside the area they owned. And René needed the change this. In order to destroy their ability to exist before they grew armed enough to resist René needed to Quincey devise a plan. And devise a plan he did. He asked the Angolans to allow him to march an army through their lands in order to attack the dictator in Kinshasa, and they agreed. After gathering every man he had available with every rifle and every jeep and airplane fitted with a machine gun, he began the march.
This Great and Grand Revolution would not fail! The forces of benevolence will destroy the forces of evil!
