Post Body

On January 3rd, 2031 CE, the people of North Kivu finally revolted against the oppressive and uncaring government they had been forced to be loyal to. Their children and women worked in the mines, their men worked on the rail lines, and the police forces beat those who didn't meet the quota. So they rebelled. First they overwhelmed the local police and took control of the area, and by the time reinforcements arrived they had gained access to guns and other arms and were able to repulse a new attack on their compound. Soon army forces from all over the country were being diverted to the East, and especially from the agricultural region of Katanga. When the people of Katanga found out that their overlords were leaving them undefended to fight dissidents, well that only inspired revolt among the farmers. This process continued until the army was so overextended that it was struggling to keep control, and the near limitless fervor that this impromptu revolution gave and the great amount of supporters meant that the government soon had to recall its forces and focus on defending one part of the nation. They retreated to the Kinsasha and its surrounding territories, taking all of coastal Congo for themselves, waiting for the rabble to calm before they stormed in and reclaimed the country.

If only they knew what their actions would lead to.
