Under the guidance of Prince Albert II, the National Council has passed a new bill decriminalizing the use of services rendered by brothels endorsed by the government. However, it will still remain illegal to solicit these services on public property, and for an individual to prostitute themselves without using a brothel.

By decriminalizing the usage of the services rendered by brothels, the government of Monaco wishes to help alleviate the pain and suffering endured by trafficked prostitutes, and to one day return these victims to their rightful homes and families. Along with the new bill, the government of Monaco will subsidize these government endorsed brothels, so as to ensure that they maintain a high standard of workplace safety for the men and women who work at these high-risk facilities.

The government of Monaco will tax these facilities once they are deemed to comply with human rights regulations. The revenue generated by these brothels will be used to cover the costs that come along with maintaining safety in these facilities.
