Post Body

After the recent acquisition by Samsung, current ownership of McLaren Group stands at Samsung (28.4%), Mumtalakat Holding Company (28%), TAG Group Limited (14.32%), Nidala Limited (9.84%), Favorita Limited (5.78%), Perlman Investments Limited (5.77%), McKal Holdings Ltd (5.24%), and Acanitt Limited (2.65%). While not holding a majority of shares, Samsung is the largest single investor and the only one with inherit battery technology for the cars. While the Formula 1 team has been economically viable, especially with recent successes, the customer side of things has several big questions regarding profitability.

At present, there are 2 hybrid electric sports cars in the McLaren Artura and the McLaren P1, though the P1 has ended production. Currently there are 3 series of cars: Sports (Artura), Super (720S), Ultimate (Senna), and GT (GT). This means our lineup is currently at 4 models with the occasional limited run Ultimate car. Samsung, with approval by the other shareholders, will create the Prestige series which will consist of the cars that we think will be our key profit makers. In the Prestige series, we will have the McLaren 240X which will be a hybrid electric 2-door crossover SUV which will be about the size of a Porsche Macan. It will be a 5 seater, though to be unique it will only have 2 doors. Another Prestige will be the McLaren 440X which will be a hybrid electric 4-door SUV which will be about the size of an Urus/Cayenne. Also a 5-seater, but with 4-doors, both the 240X and 440X will have the same engine as the McLaren Artura which is the V6 that is twin-turbocharged with the Axial Flux E-Motor, which will keep costs low. The 240X and 440X will also eventually be offered with a cheaper inline 4 cylinder that is paired with an electric motor, but this engine will need to be sourced from abroad. In addition, the 240X and 440X will have fully electric versions of the cars. The 240Xe and the 440Xe will maintain the same chassis, btu then will have batteries only. The range is expected to be 330 miles about for the 440Xe and 360 miles for the 240Xe. A fully electric car will developed that will be in between the sizes of the 240X and 440X. The McLaren Xe will be a 400 mile SUV that is fully electric. All of these SUVs will be standardized to the Tesla charging platform which should allow for easier market penetration and greater popularity. The 240X and 440X will be entering the market Q3 of 2025, the 240Xe and 440Xe will be entering the market in Q3 of 2026, and the McLaren Xe will be entering the market in Q1 of 2028. With approval of the shareholders, this will have McLaren break into the SUV and electric markets, allowing ourselves to compete against Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and Lotus who all have pushed forward crossovers/SUVs. This should allow massive profits to flow in especially if we can make these SUVs to be cheaper, allowing for a somewhat larger audience to purchase McLarens.

If there is success with the McLaren Xe, we do plan to build a fully electric McLaren super car, but we want to have the technology proven on the SUV before trying it on an Ultimate car build. Using Samsung batteries, we hope to see a huge popularity increase from these planned SUVs which will mainly be focused on European and North American markets, but will be sold globally.
