Hi, sorry in advance for the long and detailed post. Hopefully you can read through it, and maybe respond ! :)
A small introduction: I'm 18 years old, been playing CS since 2016 (so since I was 13) and love the game, racking up just over 2k hours since. I'm English, and play sometimes with my irl friends (who aren't very good), but mostly my online friends who are much better at the game.
Me and a bunch of my friends found this map on the workshop around 3 years ago, called Eco 1v1. It's called 1v1, but we prefer to play it as a 3v3. It's really unique, in that the max money is capped at 1900 (and we have a gentleman's rule to ban galils & negevs), so the meta is pistols and SMG's, instead of the usual AK47/M4A4/AWP meta. This is great because it allows for people of all skill levels to be able to play well; those with great aim might pick a deagle, and stock up on utility with the rest of their money, whereas someone with worse aim might get a mac10 or mp9 to spray and pray enemies down. This money cap also allows for a completely different economic system, much more driven by momentum. If you win one round (and survive), you have much better chances going into the next, as you will be able to afford utility on top of the weapons & armour you bought the round before.
In short, we enjoyed the map so much that I started watching yours and TopHATTwaffle's mapping videos so that I could make my own eco map. So far, I've made three (one is pretty much finished, one in development, one I scrapped because I didn't like the layout). eco_v2 - my first one, eco_asphalt - my scrapped one, eco_test - my in development one; if you have very good aim, you can take aim duels very quickly into the round depending on where you go. If you have neither of these, you can still compete, as the map is also very utility heavy as the skybox is very open. For example, I'm Faceit level 7, and often beat my level 10 3000 elo friends just because I know utility much better than them.
I've attached some clips of some gameplay here, as we've played the map for tens of hours at this point, so you can get a small look at how it is: 1 - imgur, 2 - imgur, 3 - imgur, 4 - streamable, 5 - direct discord .mp4 link
We're also planning an in-house tournament for it, all streamed on twitch, expecting around 8 teams of 3. Anyway, the reason I've posted to this subreddit is to try and I'd like to know how I can get the word out about this gamemode / map type. I saw that for 3kliksphilip's de_fenestration maps, he really incentivised the community to create a bunch of maps, and I think it'd be wonderful if something similar could be done with this. I'd love to have a plethora of maps to pick from, and for other people to enjoy as well, as I haven't had much luck making one as good as my first so far, and I'm sure much of you guys are more talented mappers than me. I initially messaged Philip hoping he would respond, but I figure it'd also be useful to go directly to the community, and post here instead. Personally, I haven't played matchmaking in months and hardly ever play faceit anymore because I find it more fun to play eco with my mates, and it often gets a lot more competitive and tense than a faceit pug ever can. Any responses at all would be massively appreciated, thank you so much for taking the time to read :)
EDIT: To clarify, the map played in the clips is "eco_v2", linked above :) the workshop screenshot is slightly outdated, so it looks a bit different.
