How do people get such easy shots from pit with AK? I can barely see that far...

I'm pretty new to the game and trying to improve my AK47 skills. In DM servers and else I keep getting out gunned long distance, or when people are in cover and just heads are showing or in corners people seem to be able to get the shots I can't... it's as if they have better vision than me. I can barely see a little head but they headshot me no problem. Is this down to my monitor being old or something making the colours blend in or something? It's very frustrating because I know when I get into these sorts of spots I'm going to die...
