For future Operations, can the drops be reset if they don't come out on a Tuesday?

Since drops reset on Tuesday, I and many other people got their drops. When the Operation dropped last night, the drops didn't reset. Anyone who already got their drop on Tuesday now has to wait until next Tuesday to get a drop. If the Operation comes out any other time than Tuesday, can we have the drops reset when you buy your coin in the first week? It just seems unfair that if you weren't able to play, you now get an Operation drop instead of a normal drop.
