Camping in between designated camping areas.
Post Body

Common story…I applied for a 3 night backpacking route and was issued a permit for one night, an out and back. My dates are late in July. The issue is that the route assigned is pretty far one way (10 miles), with elevation. I am committed to making it but I’ll be hiking with my mom—she’s training but this will be her first backpacking trip ever. I am experienced. I’m just wondering, what happens if we can’t make it to our permitted location? Are there camping options in between along the trails? Thanks in advance. Considering bailing on my one-night-only in GNP for something in nearby national forests instead.
