What happens after chapter 28?

So I'm currently on chapter 32, it's been addressed a few times that Kaji and Haruki start dating. After Kaji's confession to Haruki in chapter 28, the manga just takes off and focuses on side stories and characters. Am I missing something or is that how the manga is?
