And this is why I refuse to talk in Voice Chat 🤬

The more they were ignored, the nastier they became. And the worst part is that they really believed that they were creating a safe space to talk.

“From the moment the game started, they began bothering me, demanding that I talk, saying not to feel intimidated, that they just wanted to win. I’m Male Mexican/Canadian, but my gamer tag is Bellamy (Bella) my favorite color is purple, and my mains are D.Va, Mei, and Ana, so they always assume I’m a woman.

The game began, and no one spoke except in the text chat. Then they started threatening that if we didn’t use voice chat, they would throw the game on purpose.

Every 30 seconds they where Bellamy Bellamy Bellamy please talk, omg Bellamy look at you know how to deal dmg with Juno. Bellamy don’t be a shy girl. And I know for a fact that if a confront them we were lose the match immediately.

What triggered what you see in the video was one of us who wasn’t talking typed, ‘we don’t have microphones,’ and they got angry. Someone who truly just wants to communicate doesn’t feel the need to make specific descriptions like that; all it shows is that they see others as inferior and take things too lightly.

I didn’t leave the voice chat because I really wanted to win, and the other DPS was making callouts, though he was also insulting the tank, so it was in my interest to stay. It was a diamond lobby.

I’ve been living in an English-speaking countrys for over ten years, and the number of times that, just for speaking with a strong accent, people start barking or pretending not to understand me is significant I’m not saying this is the same but it’s usually this type of player. Some disguise it better than others.”

Yep OCE servers are pretty harsh I’m not saying that NA or LAN(I came from those ) don’t have bad players but here players are pretty racist. The other day they call me a poofter on deadlock 😭 and I had to google it coz it was the first time hearing that word.

I feel sad that you didn’t have a father figure to teach you empathy. I hope you don’t turn into a resentful incel.😄

You’re right, you’re asking a legitimate question. We didn’t do badly in the first round; in fact, it was a pretty winnable game.

Regardless of whether he was frustrated or not, the way he expressed himself only shows how he see others as inferior (I don’t know him, but I can assure you he was a white guy), and he even referred to the woman as an adjective.

If you don’t think that’s wrong, then we don’t see things the same way.”

“That was a diamond lobby. I’m a Master in Tank, so you’re completely wrong. That mentality is worse than the toxic behavior itself. Don’t comment if you don’t have any real feedback to offer. Saying they are right without any argument just shows you share the same single brain cell as the guy in the video.”
