I hate the sexism in the gaming community

Post Body

I know there's probably a dozen posts already like this, but I just want to rant. Fucking hell, I get so pissed with how there are guys who think a woman should be a tiny waist and big boobs and ass, and shit on a game that has women that look realistic and don't fit their "standards."

Just saw a reel on my Instagram feed of a guy praising the big boobs and ultra feminine face of Asian games' female characters. Then, right after, he's shitting on Western games that have women who stray away from that. I know I shouldn't have had, but I still looked at the comments and it's downright sickening how there are men who are so sexist and objectifying towards women.

Some are saying the progressiveness and wokeness of Western games are "destroying" the gaming industry and whatnot. Someone said that Western gaming companies hate women for having female characters that look realistic and I just can't help but laugh like??? Bro, those kind of female characters are what women actually want, and more women are getting into gaming and will for sure spend to get the games they claim are "destroying the industry."

It's stupid and it's disgusting how they're presenting their sexist bullshit like they're supporting women when they're doing the opposite.

It's not an exception. A lot of games (genuinely good ones) still have sexy characters.

The issue is that the moment a game comes out with female characters who look more realistic, they immediately start crying "the industry is getting destroyed" or "the game devs hate women" which is utter crap. There will continue to be games with sexy characters, and that's honestly no problem. The problem is that men like these won't accept that there is space for other games and not all games need or should have the sexy characters they want.

Not every female character should be oversexualised or even sexualised at all. You don't hear women complaining how supposedly ugly some male characters are.
