I'm in a board game related discord server, and there's been a lot of chatter lately about the board game Bullet. It seems everyone(most of whom are 40 y/o white cis dudes) is in near unanimous agreement that the art is "creepy" and sexualizing young girls.
Every time I try and bring up that they really aren't, none of them are scantily clad, most of them are adults, nobody's underwear is showing, etc, I get talked about about how it still "looks weird" for them to bring the game to game night.
I even had one comment that "it leaves people wondering where their sexy sailor moon figures are." It really feels more like a "they assume all anime is pervy" problem than the game having a sexualized art style. God forbid girls be pretty. And as far as I can tell, I'm the only woman in the server. Just frustrating.
