I'll be honest I'm not a huge Marvel fan outside of Spiderman and while I did watch the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, I was not that impressed with them. I didn't find the movies that funny and the iterations between the characters themselves just didn't click with me outside of Rocket and Groot. Hence me dismissing this game when it was first announced. You only get to play as Star Lord, who in my opinion, was the least enjoyable character from the cast, and I just never thought I'd be interested in this game.
The game released and gamers really liked it and the game sold lots of copies even though Square Enix was disappointed with the results. After watching several gameplay videos though more recently, I've grown to appreciate the cast more as I like it more so than what was portrayed in the movies. The game is a third person action game, which is one of my favorite genres. I love being able to see the characters especially when they are interacting with other npcs in the game.
You play as Star Lord who bands up a team of characters just as wild as he is and set out on a quest to save the universe. The story is an original one and you use Star Lords blasters to fight the baddies. You set off a chain of catastrophic events that you try to fix. You get to apply elemental damage to your weapon, use your jet boots to dropkicks enemies, tag-team with your crew for some interesting attacks. There are even sequences where you get to fly you spaceship and fight enemies.
The game looks amazing and the best part is that it has an amazing soundtrack that makes the game even more enjoyable. Thank you for taking the time to read this and to whomever can be so generous.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.
