Hi i wish a great day for every member of this subreddit
I was planning to request a $20 gift card to purchase Alan Wake which is one of the games I'm really looking forward to but can't play because of the high prices
Alan is a writer lost in his stories, and it's up to the player to figure out what's real and what's a fabrication.
Alan's story boils with intensity from the moment you meet him, trapped in a strange nightmare that leads him to a lighthouse and one of the things i really liked about story is the fact that it is open to interpretation. My understanding of what happens is likely different from interpretation of another player from story which makes discussions about the story much better.
The entire story unfolds in the small Washington port town of Bright Falls – a place Alan and his beloved wife Alice travel to try to help Alan find his writing pulse again.
One of the things i really like from it's narrative is its mysteriousness. From what i heard in an early sequence where Alan dives into a lake is an excellent example of the narrative's dramatic shifts: The second his hands hit the water, he awakens in his car, blood dripping from his forehead. What happened here? Which moment is a dream? Thoughts like these flare up through most of this dark tale.
Gameplay might don't sound really exciting and unique to some like using a flashlight's beam to remove the darkness from an enraged being but it has its intensity given how quickly the battery dies and also the strong narrative pulse makes the weak gameplay worth it
Also it's worth mentioning that its story is heavily connected with Control's game by the same developer. Actually one of its dlcs to be more precise. I really liked Control in various aspects one being mysteriousness of story and the lore. Great connectivity in the story and lore which make the game, fair to say, free of plot holes. Also from what i seen, heard and read from some posts in Control subreddit most of people said that the dlc is a much better experience after playing Alan Wake(as it's an expansion not just a simple dlc. It adds into story content)

Also i already got Platinum Trophy(100% completion) for Control's main game and hoping to get Alan Wake so i can 100% dlcs aswell.
