Hey there! How are all of you doing? I wanted to ask for your help in getting me Devil May Cry 5 for the PS4! It costs about 30$!

Devil May Cry 5, or as the Romans call it, Devil May Cry V, is an outstanding achievement crafted by some of the most talented men in the industry. It's one of the best games out there and one that I've been meaning to get into for quite a while now. But why did I suddenly make a request for it?

Well, on February 25th, 2022, Elden Ring will be released, and as someone who's "something of a Fromsoft fan himself", I'm just utterly hyped for it. So I created a project for myself. It has two simple steps:

  • The Trophy Trek
  • Let There Be Carnage, Path of the Warseeker

Stage 1: "Trophy Trek" is a conquest. A path of unlimited sacrifice towards the ultimate gem: the raison d'etre of FROM's games. Basically, in Psnprofiles, you have this "Trophy Milestone" corner. And here your every 10th platinum trophy is shown. The problem was that I was at 21 Platinums back then. So, naturally, I decided to commit myself to platinum-ing 8 games until I was at 29 Platinums and then I could give the 30th to Elden Ring.

I've completed the following Platinums, and now I only need to Platinum 2 more games and I'm done!

The gif is aptly placed because this is where Stage 2 of the Project begins...

You see, in order to prepare for Elden Ring, just the blood sacrifice wasn't enough...no...there was more needed. In preparation, I chartered a course for the divine and the cursed - Thus, began the descent to madness as I procured from within the depths of Hades, a challenge most dire...

This was Stage 2: "Let There Be Carnage, Path of the Warseeker". A gauntlet of challenging games that I'd go through to prepare myself for it. This did include going through all the Soulsborne games with various challenges such as SL1/BL4 Runs, Whip-only run, Arcane run, etc. But even more than that, it included some difficult games as well. And this is kind of where I hit my toe on the edge of the table.

You see, I lack actual difficult games outside of the Soulsborne genre. And then I remembered that I have this long-ass wishlist of games I desire to play where Devil May Cry 5 exists...and thus, after such a long intro, we finally circle back to it.

It's a game that's been on my radar for a long time, but I never got to it until now. And yes, I do, obviously, intend to play it on harder difficulties. I've played all of its previous parts (except DmC) and enjoyed them all, and do believe I'll enjoy this entry as well. Not to mention, I've also watched the Devil May Cry anime that only 10 people in the entire 3rd galaxy have.

  • Dante is an amazing character and I would love to experience another entry in his chapter.
  • Nero is an excellent side protagonist as well, and while my friends didn't enjoy him as much in Devil May Cry 4, I loved him.
  • V is, uhh, not sure tbh. I suppose I'll reserve all judgment until I play the game.
  • And then we have Vergil, the big boi himself, god I'll love to go through his chapter. Pure kino stuff right there.

But Centi, why would you not purchase the game yourself?

Excellent question.

Let me paint you a picture, son.

Portrait of a poor guy after recent years.

The economy was tumblin' for the Pakistani people,

Tellin' the world the government was corrupt!

(Source)

But, uhum, jokes aside. Essentially my country's economy is beyond fucked. Day by day, our prices skyrocket downwards like Wile E. Coyote's attempts. We used to be at a point where 1 USD = 80 PKR (I remember this from my childhood). And now it's 1 USD = 175 PKR. And just a few weeks ago it was 160!

It's beyond abysmal. What's worse is that while our economy plummets down, prices go up in an inversely proportional relationship. Ok but what about salary? Remains the exact same. So yea it's terrible, very terrible. And it's not getting any better. Especially when imported goods are involved. And because Pakistan is a third-world country, it doesn't have the best luck with video games. Almost every video game here is a bitch to get.

But even despite all the odds, I've saved up money - for almost an entire year...to buy Elden Ring. I'm one of those people who only get games waaay after they are released, at incredibly discounted prices, because I simply can't afford it otherwise. But with Elden Ring, I want to get it as soon as possible, y'know? I truly want to live that magical moment of discovering the game for myself without spoiling anything.

Unfortunately, because of that commitment, I can't afford anything for this game. Which is why I'm here. I'll really appreciate anyone trying to help here.

A few questions:

  • Do I have a guarantee you'll play this game?

There's no real way to guarantee anything. But I do possess a good track record of having 100%-ed everything I've received from this subreddit before. Namely: Nioh 2, Blood: Fresh Supply, Cuphead (ok not 100% but close enough, the game's a bitch). And while I never got Borderlands 3 from here, I 100%-ed that as well.

  • How much would you even play it?

Let's just say I intend to play this game a lot. Games like these I often play for a long ass time. I remember spending a lot of time with the older Devil May Cry games and getting stuck in them.

  • This game can be incredibly hard at the harder difficulties, would you still play them?

(reaction)

  • Do you intend to Platinum this game?

Probably. I do have a platinum addiction, so it might be something that emerges on the path. However, it's not part of the Trophy Trek mostly because I wouldn't have enough time to Platinum this before Elden Ring releases. Just not enough time.

  • How would I gift the game to you?

PSN Gift Cards. I don't know why Sony still hasn't put Gifting into their website, but oh well. It's a problem we'll have to live with. You'll have to send me 20$ and 10$ Gift cards (totaling 30$) so I can purchase this game.
