Hey everybody,
Hope you've all kept safe and happy during these weird and uncertain times,
Today marks my fifth attempt requesting for Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Alright, let's get down to explaining the request.
So, what makes you really like this game?:
Yakuza as a series is absolutely wonderful. For starters, it stays true to itself in the sense that it takes itself very seriously but isn't afraid to throw curveballs or shock/surprise you. It can also be surprisingly lighthearted!
You can go from intense, well-written storylines and characters... to wacky minigames and side stories that will have you laughing your arse off the next. There's also no linear path or tasks you have to do right there and then. If you ever feel burnt out from the story, you can always dip in and out of doing other little things on the side. Like a Dragon adds a whole new depth to the gameplay by integrating a summon and RPG dungeon crawling mechanic, something I absolutely adore. For someone like me who struggles with always needing to do something with her hands, it helps a ton knowing there's a lot of variety and things to do. Also, might I add that you can summon a Crawfish Caper or the Diaper Man from Yakuza Kiwami 2?! Also, best boy Majima??
The stylish and dramatic cinematography both in cutscenes and fights 100% puts some movies released to shame. The voice actors always do a stellar job conveying the emotion of each character. You can feel the raw emotion as they go through various trials and tribulations. In my personal opinion, the voice acting far outranks some of the acting I've seen in a good portion of movies.
Why are you having trouble affording it? Why can’t you just buy it if you love it so much?
To put things simply, I can't afford it. I work on a teacher's salary in Japan, but it can only take me so far. Me and my partner are saving up for a place to live together, for documents to finalize our marriage at the registry office, and towards our visa after our work program concludes, since we are both from 2 different countries. Our work program ends in August 2021, but our current visa expires in April 2020. We don't live anywhere near the embassy to have our notaries signed or our visa handled, so we have to travel by multiple trains and buses to get there and back. As you can imagine, we are stressed trying to figure out a plan on how to do this during a worldwide pandemic, as we need those documents before our contract ends.
My motivation levels are pretty low this month, and I feel pretty low... as it is the anniversary of my brother's passing. It's been 3 years since I last saw my immediate family face to face since I accepted the work program based in Japan, and watching my other brother and sister grow up and not see him face to face... hurts more than you can possibly know.
Having the game would help more than you know. I can sink hours into the gameplay and feel more at ease and be distracted from these thoughts even if for a little while. I can also talk and geek out to my best friend about this game and play the multiplayer option with her, as she already has the game on her end.
その他:
Here's my Steam ID if you want to take a look at my profile. You're always welcome to message me here, on discord, or on steam.
I won't be requesting games for quite a while once I finish requesting for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, since I'll be primarily focused on completing the game, life, and also... I'd like to give others opportunities to request and get a game/games they’ve always wanted.
I promise to pay this forward one day if someone ever gifts me the game. When that happens, I'll make sure to make the giveaway and have the prize set to the same price as Yakuza: Like a Dragon! Just know... I cannot do this until I am financially stable... but consider this a promise that will be upheld.
This sub can hold me accountable should someone gift me this title!
Thanks for reading, stay safe and gucci.
