Hey all,
I suppose this would be the last game I’d be requesting for a while, and it’s for something that I personally feel I’d play the crap out of.
The game I’m talking about is Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
So, why this game?
I have been into the Yakuza games for a really long time, and for a really long time the only way I could see what the game was about were through watching streamers or youtubers that upload videos. Not only doors all the Yakuza games have a brilliant narrative story wise, they have amazing and hilarious range of side stories, soundtracks and mini games that make every penny worth the purchase. With this particular game, it also fuses in a particular genre I’m in love with, JRPGs, and this makes Yakuza: Like a Dragon one of the top games I’d really like to review too if possible! I know for a fact I’d put in at least a couple hundred hours in or more, granted I negotiate equal amounts of time on the single laptop I own with my partner.
As a teacher living in Japan, playing Yakuza games also double as a learning tool for my listening and reading skills, and getting acquainted with vocabulary I don’t typically come across while teaching students.
On a less educational note, this is the perfect kind of game to play to feel relaxed, have a laugh and forget even if only for a short time about all the crap that’s been happening personally.
So then, why are you having trouble affording it? Why can’t you just buy it if you love it so much?
This is the reality of my situation. Me and my partner are saving up for a place to live in the UK, our visa and our marriage fees. We’ve had a setback where we had to lend an emergency portion of our savings to my immediate family who are unable to work at present. We had bad news over winter holidays that they all contracted the new form of the coronavirus. At present they are all feeling poorly (not to the point of hospitalisation yet but I’m worried this would be the case soon), with two family members at high risk health wise. They’re living on a single income (my mother’s) as my father’s workplace made him redundant after the second lockdown. That’s the situation we’re in.
Here’s my Steam ID! I don’t think I’d be requesting another game after Yakuza: Like a Dragon for quite a while afterwards, because I also want to give others the opportunity to request and get games they’ve always wanted. I also promise to pay this forward one day!
And this is the one game I’ve really wanted for a long time. Feel free to add me on steam and maybe we can play a game together at some point?
On a final note... check out ArcadeTheory! We’re a dedicated team that review various games and give you the lowdown on what games are cool and hip to play 😎
Thanks for reading, stay safe and stay gucci everybody.
