First off, this is my Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198395154480/. Prodeus is a new "boomer shooter"(just an old style of shooter, for those who don't know the term) created by a small studio by the name of Bounding Box Software Inc. that recently released into early access. It is an old style first person shooter akin to Doom, but re-imagined with modern rendering techniques. It's really fucking cool.
I participated in the Beta testing, and it was amazing. It has the coolest fucking aesthetics, punchy weapons, fast pacing, good music, and it looks beautiful. I really liked playing it during beta testing, so much so that I would play the first 2 levels over and over until they got boring, and then there were endless custom maps made by the community to play. I never quite mastered the map editor, but the others that have make some amazing maps, and I feel like it's one of the game's best features.
I have a history with first person shooters, and I love the old style that seems to be making a resurgence. I love the Doom games, I like the Wolfenstein games, I love Quake, I've played boomer shooters like Iron Fury and Deus Ex(although Deus Ex isn't necessarily a boomer shooter as much as it is an old first person shooter game), and I love the genre as a whole. First person shooters are by far my favorite type of game.
All in all, I love first person shooters and I love the aesthetics of the old style boomer shooters. I think that I will get hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of the game, especially with the addition of the custom maps made by the community.
