I've been playing Among Us on my phone with a group of friends for a couple of weeks now, and I love it! But I find the interface clunky as anything and would much rather be able to use my mouse/kb. Usually by the time I'm able to type something in the chat, it's time to vote. Besides, playing games on a tiny phone screen gets tiresome after a little while, doesn't it?
What I love about Among Us:
- I enjoy running around trying to get the tasks done quickly, or sneaking around acting inconspicuous (and not at all sus). I'm not great at being an impostor yet, but I'd love to get better.
- Playing with friends in this time when we can't get together to play games in person safely. I'm really missing my tabletop nights with my friend group. This isn't quite the same, but it helps.
- It's adorable!
- The rounds are relatively short, which is great for my current attention span.
- It reminds me of a game I played as a kid called "Murder in the Dark" where each player gets a marble, and each color marble denotes a specific role. One denotes the murderer, one the detective. You turn out the lights, the murderer has to "kill" someone by touching their arm or somesuch. The killed person lets out a death cry, and the detective has to turn the light on. The detective can question people, and then has to accuse someone of being the murderer. Upon being accused, the person reveals their marble to show if the detective is correct or not. I played this game a lot with my cousins as a child, partially because it had the benefit of being free, and was fun when there were a bunch of us.
I don't have it in my budget this month, and would be ever so grateful if someone could upgrade my playing experience!
