4TH REQUEST I/E CHAPTER 4

INTRO

I grew up with Tom Clancy. I played all of the Vegas games, most of Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Endwar, etc. I have a lot of fond memories of Vegas specifically, so although I almost never pre order games I pre ordered the "gold" edition of Rainbow Six Siege when it was announced. I played it endlessly the first year, and it was easily my favorite game of 2016 (although it technically came out in 2015). However, at the end of 2016 Ubi pulled a sneaky on me, and because of that I refused to play siege for a good year. For those who don't know or didn't play siege, when the game was available for pre order the "gold" edition said "includes all dlc". However, once year 1 had ended and year 2 was announced, ubi changed the description after people had bought it to "all year 1 dlc". As i'm sure you can assume, people like me who bought the "gold" edition were quite annoyed. At the time I wasn't in college, so I sucked it up and bought Season 2, but i quickly stopped playing both due to work and being annoyed at Ubi.

Cut to now, Season 4 is about to start, and i'm a CS college student full time. I ended up joining a community online I play with a lot and it helps a lot with stress and such from classes. Of course, they play a ton of Siege, so i've been getting back into it, HARD. I'm being reminded why i loved this game so much, although i'm still annoyed at Ubi. For what it's worth though, I haven't pre ordered a game since :).

WHAT IS IT

Rainbow Six Siege is the 8th game in the "Rainbow Six" series. Loosely based on the novels of the same name, the rainbow six series is a tactical shooter heavily based on tactically breaching and clearing rooms. Siege goes all out with this, and removes the single player campaign and large levels to focus on small destructible buildings to breach with various weapons, gadgets, and explosives. Think CS: GO, but walls are constantly going boom. One of the appealing factors of R6S is the "operators". Unlike previous games in the series, you no longer customize a loadout for your specific character like most shooters. Instead, R6S uses pre selected characters based on various Spec Ops factions from different countries. FBI, GSG, GIGN, you name it, Siege probably has it. There are 8 operators released each year, or "Season". 4 different factions, 2 operators each. Each operator comes with unique weapons and gadgets, and plays completely differently to other operators. Because of this, in order to fully enjoy the game you want to have access to as many operators as possible (think League of Legends). Although you can obtain this operators through game time, they are VERY expensive, and it requires a lot of grinding to get just one operator.

WHY I CANT GET IT

As I said before, i'm a full time college student and all my money goes towards that. I'm currently job searching, but finding a job where I am that's ok with the hours i'm available is proving quite difficult. I also struggle with stress and anxiety, and Siege is one of the ways I calm down at the end of the day. Although I may have had an extremely stressful day, once I get home and hop on with the guys in my clan to play Siege i feel a lot better, and ready to face the next day. However, i'm having trouble using Siege to de stress, because i'm so busy grinding. If anything, trying to de stress with friends is almost causing more stress because of the grinding required. Getting the Season 4 pass would solve this for me instantly. Besides getting access to this years operators without grinding, the pass also comes with a year long boost in "renown" the currency you use to unlock operators. in other words, it would greatly cut down on the grinding required to get the year 3 operators I don't have and can no longer purchase.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I've said this before, but it bears repeating. Although I would be EXTREMELY grateful if someone were to gift me this, I am by no means expecting it. Besides the fact that Siege is playable without these operators, and that I can get them through grinding, there are people much more deserving of your gifts than me. Although I am having trouble finding a job because i'm in college, there are plenty of people who request games because they can't even do that. The point i'm trying to make is that don't spend your money on me unless you're sure you don't want to spend it on someone more deserving.
