We’ve had a large spike in traffic and new users, so we’d like to WELCOME EVERYONE TO GIFT OF GAMES!

The moderation team feels that the state of things are going very well, so we decided to use this update to remind everyone of the subreddit rules.

If you haven’t already, please READ OUR RULES HERE. A summary can be seen on our sidebar, but please make sure you read the main body.

Here in Gift of Games we try to promote a gaming community while providing people with a safe place to share their generosity with others.

Please remember that this is NOT A FREE GAMES SUBREDDIT. There are many other subreddits if that is what you are looking for. If you receive a game, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO PLAY IT. Do not request games you do not intend to play. We are very strict on people hoarding, trading, and not trading games.

ALL BAN APPEALS WILL BE IGNORED.

More importantly, requesting a game here will NOT guarantee that you will get it. Our sidebar has examples of well-written requests. While you are not expected (or encouraged) to write pages and essays worth of requests, be realistic and understand that a simple “I want x, please gib gaem,” will almost certainly NOT be fulfilled.
