Hello! This is technically a standalone game but I consider it DLC for Dishonored 2 in terms of content. It has gotten great reviews and has a very interesting story. For those of you not familiar with Dishonored (how terrible!) I will provide a short introduction.
Dishonored
Dishonored is a first-person stealth game where you play a character that posses unique supernatural abilities and that has a wide arsenal of weapons at their disposal. The character is an assassin and has to undertake various missions that you can complete by sneaking through a level or killing everyone, leaving no witnesses. A huge part of Dishonored is about affecting the world through actions and the choices you make as you play. The game features a Chaos system that dynamically changes the game depending on how destructive you play. It can affect the dialogue used by characters, the amount of enemies present in levels and perhaps most importantly, the ending.
There are multiple endings based on whether the player caused high chaos by killing everything that breathes or low chaos if you refrained from taking lives. A side-effect of this is that the game has great replay-ability!
A very interesting figure in the Dishonored universe is The Outsider. He is a mysterious morally ambiguous supernatural being, neither good or evil. He appears to people that interest him, sometimes giving them his mark, giving them supernatural powers. Throughout the game the Outsider observes the player and his actions, often appearing to comment his choices and their effect on the world.
Death of the Outsider is, as you might have guessed, about killing this being, which I find highly interesting. How do you kill a god?...
Me and Dishonored
I have played both games in the series and all of the DLC available in the first game. Dishonored is the type of game you can play multiple times because of the reason mentioned earlier. There are even ways to play the game without powers, making it much harder (and interesting) to play. Of course you can't forget about achievements, as with most Steam games there are plenty of them available and I like to try and complete the harder ones :) Yet another reason to play more, as if I needed it.
As mentioned characters have unique abilities and always bring something new to the table. It's not just "another Dishonored game", it's something to be excited about!
Conclusion
Dishonored is easily one of the best game(series) I have played in my life. I'm really excited when new content is available and this time is no different. As always I plan to put a lot of time into this game and, of course, enjoy it a lot!
About me: I'm in my 20's, studying full-time at a university in Sweden. Uni is great, although tiring at times. That's where games come in. I've been gaming all my life on different consoles but settled on PC as a teenager (thank god). Gaming how I relax and get that well-needed boost everyone need from time to time.
Time and money are two things students don't have much of and that is also the reason I'm posting here. The game is available for around €20 on a couple of sites, not just the one I linked here. Please check here for a full list.
Thanks for reading everyone. I hope I managed to explain why I want this game and, if you haven't played it before, made you curious enough to check it out yourself! I strongly recommend starting with the first game and its DLC. You will not regret it.
