Post Body

Hi GoG, hope you're all having a wonderful day. As a little update about my life, things are starting to look up, my father just started to go back to his usual self, he went to the cinema with my brother and me and it seems he had a good time, even though we can still see sadness in his face, that was a good step in the right direction :)

I wanted to make these request because it seems today is the last day of the Dark Souls III sale in Amazon. I know that $30 is a lot of money, but as far as i know this is my best shot at getting the game, in about 12 hours Dark Souls III will go back to its full price of $60 so i don't want to miss the chance of asking for it today.

This is my sixth attempt at getting the game so I'm sure you've seen all this drawings by now, nevertheless here they are again.

"Old Friends"

"The Choice"

"Bonfire"

"Praise the Sun"

Hope you enjoyed the drawings and now, unto the actual request

What is Dark Souls?

Oh Dark Souls, everyone's heard stories about this game. For those who don't know, Dark Souls is an RPG that is not afraid to not hold your hand, in fact, it tries to do the total opposite, throwing you into a cruel open-world map that is constantly trying to brutally murder you, despite this, the game is pretty fair, when you analyze the times you've died, you see that you died by your own hand, either by not managing your stamina, getting greedy, or simply for not expecting the unexpected. And yes, some might argue that something unexpected is unfair, but that really isn't the case in Dark Souls, the game teaches you very early on that there are traps and ambushes around every corner so you learn to backstep after entering a hallway in case there's a trap or at least keeping your shield up while exploring a new area, the game expects you to learn from your first mistakes a grow to become a better player, and it succeeds doing so. Another thing that Dark Souls offers is an incredible atmosphere, you can really feel the dread all around you, which ties perfectly well with the game story, the grayish-colors really make you feel like the end is drawing near, and the NPC's often tell you details of the world around you, and each one of them has a different motivation and ideology, solidifying their uniqueness. The game offers a unique and brilliant multiplayer system that lets you either help or hinder other players during their own adventures by joining one of the different factions within the game (covenants), you may opt to engage with other players in jolly cooperation [T]/ and help them fight bosses and enemies or opt to invade their games, kill them, and send them all the way back to their last checkpoint. The best part of it is that it is completely optional as you require to turn yourself human at a checkpoint to access it. And last but not least, I'd like to talk about the bosses, i think they are a perfect way of evaluating your progress and skills so far, as they test your endurance and health managment both in and out of battle, even though they kick your butt over and over, the feeling of overcoming the challenge they pose is incredible, every boss in the game feels unique and fun to battle against (with a few exceptions cough Bed of Chaos cough), and I think they are what makes Dark Souls, Dark Souls.

What does Dark Souls mean to me?

The original Dark Souls has been one of the best expiriences in gaming I've ever had, I've easily played it for over 800 hours on my pc, no matter how many times I play it, each run of the game is completely unique; trying new builds, taking new paths, handicapping myself by imposing challenges (no leveling up, no healing, etc), the replayabiltiy of this game is simplly unmatched. But no matter how many times I play it, the run I remeber the most is the first one: all the unexpected deaths, the frustrating bosses (looking at you O&S), getting my ass handed to me over and over, but mostly the uncomparable feeling of achievement after beating each and every challenge the game threw my way. Dark Souls alone has helped me stay sane throughout my highschool years, and is easily one of my favourite games to come back to for more.

Why do I want Dark Souls III?

I've beaten Dark Souls 2 once, but i felt the experience wasn't nearly the same. I've heard from countless people that Dark Souls III feels more like a sequel to the original game than DS2, and that alone makes me eager to expirience it. Another thing that makes me want to play it is the fact that even if the game has been in my wishlist for over a year, I know almost nothing about it (I've managed to avoid watching videos or reading things about it), which means that the expirience that I'll get from playing it will be similar to that of my first run through the original Dark Souls: a true sense of exploration accompanied by both pain and achievement. I'm certain that getting the game would mean hundreds of hours of entertainment, specially in the upcoming summer vacations.

Why can't I get it myself?

This past year has been a rough one for both my family and the country I live in, the rise in prices for gas, food and education means that I really can't give myself the luxury of buying a videogame, specially with me going to college next semester. And now adding the cost my uncle's funeral, my family is going through some really difficult times. I'm asking for the Xbox One version because I'm unable to buy a new pc capable of running the game, so I thought I might as well use the Xbox i helped my brother buy a few years back.

Thanks a lot for reading, I know I'm asking for a lot, but it would mean the world to me if I got this game, anyways I hope you have a great day and wish happy gaming to all of you
