Hello everybody. It is I, Exo316, here to request from the gifters for a copy of the recently (well recently to me) released game, Civilization VI. This is my second request here on the subreddit, and have only gifted one out so far (well 2 but the second guy never made a [GOG] post but that’s cool) so I'm not a huge gifter myself but hoping to rely on the kindness of my fellow redditors.
The Game:
It’s a long running series from Sid Meier that I have been into for quite some time. Civilization VI has added a whole slew of new things to keep you coming back game after game.
I started playing the game a long time ago on my old fat bottomed Packard Bell computer back in the late 90's with Civ 2. My brother in law had come into town with my sister for Christmas and brought some games alone with him. This is a guy who had a larger hit on my game tastes than I ever realized by writing this. He also got me into the Metal Gear series with the PlayStation one that I had to beat without turning off the system because I had no memory card at the time. This year though he had brought me a copy of Road Rash, Civilization II, and a few other misc. ones. That started me on playing each of the versions up to the last one and hopefully onto this new one.
Back when I started the playing the game things were a lot simpler, and blockier, then it is today. Normally when I try to beat the game I try to get to space first or just destroy the whole world kind of thing and I think the new religion victory will be an interesting add on to try and get now and again.
I really like the district system they added as well. Having to plan out districts in your city and make each city more specialized because of that instead of just making each city the copy paste of the others.
The civics tree they added as well seem to add another depth of an area even though it looks like they have less tech to research in the long run.
The game itself though has always been a 4X game where you explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate. You start then run your cities, expand them, decide how you want to take over the world, then do it. As I said before normally when I am able to win I'm going for a space or war victory but this time I think I’ll try more things to expand my horizons.
In all lately I just got it into my head that I have to have this game and after getting a retropie in a NES style shell and setting the whole thing up I'm a bit broke and unable to get it myself.
Why does he deserve it?
Truth be told I don’t deserve it. I didn’t do anything in particular to earn deserving it. I will be grateful for, play the hell out of, and love the hell out of the game.
I didn’t play the hell out of the last game but I think I played a good amount but with the sheer number of achievements in the game I'm not going to try to show off the number I have. Lol.
I just love the series though. Its treated me well over the years and I’ve gotten each one because of it. Sure, beyond earth didn’t hold my attention for a long time but I still enjoyed the hell out of it.
Who is this person?
Me? I some guy who lurks on reddit a lot and plays games. Lately I even started to stream on twitch. I have an insane amount of /played time on World Of Warcraft on a single character, play the hell out of Overwatch and GTA V Online, and started playing games online back in the days of a MUD called The Labyrinth. Kind of old school but I still enjoy the games I played back in the day like this one.
