Hello and Merry Xmas, lads!
I have always been a huge fan of the Metal Gear series. In fact, I believe it to be the best series of video games ever. Iāve played pretty much the entire series and, to this day, it still remains my favorite series. I took Solid Snake from the snowy fields of Shadow Moses to fight his twin brother on the metal gear (!) to taking Raiden, a surprise character, to fight off Solidus on the Big Shell whilst watching Solid Snake help me from afar and from close. I think MGS2 was the most hardest for me, not because it was a hard game but rather because I had to play with a new character whilst watching my favorite character from afar and hoping soon enough I would revert back to controlling him (I hope I did not spoil anything for anyone. I mean the game is quite old). Later on, I visited the story of Big Boss and the sorrow he felt having to leave behind the country that he once swore to protect. After all, Naked Snake had to become the Big Boss someday... And it was the best story. He went from the person I disliked quite a bit to becoming my second favorite character in the video games. I believe that Hideo Kojima has this amazing creative power to make you feel connected and bond with his characters in a way that not many other video game makers can and I really hope he continues to entertain us for many centuries still.
I remember the day they released the trailer for The Phantom Pain and someone had just edited the image to show the Metal Gear logo in the background. I nearly, or perhaps I did, shat myself. I was thrilled. I was happy. I was going to see Big Boss again. I was going to experience the genius of Hideo Kojima once more. Nothing, at the time, mattered more to me. I think I must have watched the trailer 90 times trying to figure out every single little detail I could. Who was this man with a missing arm? Why is his arm missing? Who is helping him? Why is he helping him? Is that Snake? Is that Big Boss? Is it even really Metal Gear!?
Finally, it was confirmed. This is indeed Metal Gearā¦ and I want to experience it. I say āexperienceā because nothing ever came close to having the same type of effect on me. Metal Gear is justā¦ unique. I have put off buying this video game because it would hurt to say goodbye. Perhaps, it's time?
I have been gaming on my brother's PS4 mostly. In between jobs, I currently find myself with a lot of free time and noticed that the definitive edition of MGS5 is on special. I want to experience the story once more and finally say goodbye because, as we all know, Hideo Kojima is no longer at Konami and they own the MGS brand. I want to experience MGS5 before the release of Death Stranding (the new game by Hideo). Perhaps it's time for me to kick it on for Metal Gear! (!) Snake? Snake? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEEEE!!!
