Hey y'all, it's me, TriTexh, and some of you might know me as Master on Steam and Discord, and I'm here after Quite a bit of time to make a request.
I believe that some, if not all of you, are familiar with the game I'm asking. For those of you who are not, Here is where you can get about all the information you're going to need on the game itself. Forgive me for not being able to tell anything about it.
The reason I'm not gonna do a detailed breakdown, unlike my Just Cause 3 request from a year ago (lel, to think it's been a year), about why I want this game is, truthfully, I have never played a Guilty Gear game in my life, ever. Period.
Now I know some of you might be wondering "why is this loco asking for a game without having a history of playing any title in the series?", to which my (rather simple) answer is: I would like a fighting game in my library
Now, to the next question: Why this game in particular?, to which my answer is: you know, that's a great question. I don't really know, it just looks like the kind of game I would enjoy.
However, if I had to be specific, I guess it would be the fact that I've never really been enthralled, excited, captivated, seduced even, by a fighting game to this extent in all my life, not by its graphics, not by its gameplay and certainly not by its reviews, and it helps that the game is immensely popular in the community despite it being out for a short time
What I do know is that the game has a large character roster (which, I assume, is standard for fighting games), features a multitude of game modes, some rather insane and difficult looking combos, going by the trailers on the store page, and is apparently popular in the Japanese e-Sports environment.
As for what I would do if I did get this game, one way or the other, my answer is: I will enjoy it. I know a game I will enjoy when I see one, and this all but screams "enjoyable" to me, and I know for a fact that I will spend hours and hours trying to perfect that lethal combo
This is about as much as I can tell about the game, since, as I mentioned already, I haven't played a Guilty Gear game, ever, and it does seem to be a shame that I never found about this series till this year. I will understand if none of you are convinced at this point, since I'm about to dive a bit into who I am and (mildly) lay out some of the more... financial side of this request for consideration:
I'm an average guy in the average sububrb in your average country called India inb4 I get hounded and/or lynched by dumbasses for saying that, who likes to game in his free time. I've been out of a job for a month, and personally, I've never felt this free in my life.
These days, I spend my time studying for film school the best I can through the internet, while I wait for a bit of cash so I can buy the convenient paperback I can use to expedite my studies. My hobbies are airsoft (though it's next-to-literally impossible to get an airsoft gun around here), light gardening and playing with my guinea pigs.
On the side, I engage in mildly swimming through the world of Python and whatnot so I can have a backup in case my film school dream goes the way of the Titanic.
You'll notice I mentioned something about the financial aspects about this game. Let me tell you a bit about that. The fact that Steam now has regional pricing for India (INR: Indian Rupee), coupled with the lower per-capita income and weaker economy compared the US, has a perk many other territories don't have: The games are, for the most part, very cheap compared to the USD. This game, in particular, sells for a paltry $13.12 for the base game, according to SteamDB, and about $17 for the deluxe edition. I will understand if that puts any gifters off gifting me the game, and my own personal conflicts with asking for games due to the price difference have kept me at bay from requesting and entering giveaways pretty much all the time, but I couldn't control myself with this game when even the likes of Dishonored 2 couldn't make me flinch.
But if you, as gifters, feel that I am worthy of getting this game, but find spending $50 on a game a little cringe-y, do contact /u/maximumdan to learn of the alternative means of gifting if you would be so inclined.
To end it, a small TL;DR (thought the request itself is rather short): I am Master, and I am here after quite a bit of time to ask for a game, and that game is Guilty Gear Xrd - REVELATOR-. I have never played a Guilty Gear game, or a fighting game in proper before this (except that half hour of Street Fighter IV a long time ago), and if you find me worthy, do go through any and all options you have at your disposal before spending money on me.
Oh, another note, I don't have a controller, so if you do gift me the game, or I get it myself, please don't laugh if I suck at it till I get one.
