Post Body

I've always been a fan of video game conventions and their exclusive nature. Growing up on the East Coast, I constantly read about E3 and Nintendo Space World, but never had the opportunity or funds to go.

Then in the early 00's, PAX (2004) and BlizzCon started (2005), adding further insult to injury. Here were two more great video game conventions that I wouldn't be able to find the means to attend.

Obviously, PAX East starting in Boston was a god send (especially since I was living there), and with a lot of perseverance (read: standing around for days in windy, wet, cold Boston weather) I managed to pickup tickets to the convention the day of, twice.

Needless to say, attending PAX East twice were some of my fondest memories. And if I ever managed to get a ticket to E3, I'd jump at that opportunity as well (hitchhiking if necessary). BlizzCon is a different beast altogether. Rather than surrounding a single manufacturer, or industry, it's based solely on one developer, which is very rare (I'm guessing this is how QuakeCon started as well). It's all Blizzard, all the time, all day, for two days. And while I'd relish the opportunity to attend this convention as well, I believe it's an experience even farther away from me than E3.

With all that said, Blizzard, in their infinite wisdom (or maybe greed?), began issuing virtual tickets to their convention. From what I understand, it provides access to streaming content, like showcases, exhibitions and panels, as well as providing your battle.net account with digital goods.

In lieu of actually attending, a virtual ticket sounds like a GREAT opportunity to experience what this convention really feels like and offers. So if anyone has an extra pass, or code to attend the event, I'd be most appreciative. BlizzCon starts in two days and runs from Nov. 4 through the 5th. Thanks for reading!
