Okay everyone, it's your boy Preacher here. I was hesitant to request this game, as I'd just gotten one not too long ago, but man, it's a lotr game and it's on sale so i thought I'd give it a go. I'm requesting a game that I've always dreamed of playing and it takes place in Tolkien's Universe, ie the universe in which the lotr and hobbit movies take place.
I mean, who doesn't lover the movies and books right? I've read the books multiple times and I've watched the movies even more times and they never get old. Okay, so I don't want to bore you all, so I'll tell you a little bit about the game first. The story of the game takes place between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The players control Talion, a ranger who was killed by the Black Hand of Sauron. Talion's spirit merged with the wraith of the Elf Lord Celebrimbor, and together they try to avenge the death of their loved ones. Players can engage in melee combat, and utilize some of the wraith abilities to fight against enemies. The game uses the Nemesis System, which allows the artificial intelligence of non-playable characters to remember the death of the game's protagonist and react accordingly. In completing missions, the player can have Talion engage in melee, ranged combat, and stealth approaches, with some missions rewarding the player more for completing the mission in a specific manner. Talion's ranger abilities are enhanced through Celebrimbor, allowing the player to mix combat with special focus-based attacks; these latter attacks can be used to slow time down while aiming with the bow, drain focus out of an enemy foe. or, later in the game, brand the foe to become an ally of Talion. The combat system uses an attack-chain system that enables the player to perform special moves after building the chain to a large enough value, such as instantly draining a foe of focus or performing an area focus attack. With the combat system, they can also counter and dodge attacks. Stealth is a critical element in some missions; several areas are considered Strongholds and should Talion's presence be discovered, an alarm will sound and more Uruks will arrive to try to kill him. Sounds awesome right?
There are many reasons why I want this game(besides the reason that I love everything Tolkien). One of them is that this game uses The Nemesis System. The first game to do so I believe and this just makes the game even more immersive, your enemies remembering you and taunting you when you meet them again. it's just amazing. Then there's the combat, I loveeeeeeeed the Batman games and the awesome freeflow combat and this uses it as well. Except, swords and daggers :0 That must be epic. Then there's the voice actors and my homie Troy baker and of course, Nolan North. mean what could be more awesome than these two bad boys? So again, the gameplay is fantastic and the graphics are really good and represents Middle-earth wonderfully. I just can't wait to get into it. Oh, and I love stealth games(Batman lol) and you get the chance to go about being all stealthy like here and it also looks like it has a sort of Assassin's Creed feel to it, which is also really cool.
Okay so now we're at this part. I guess there really isn't much of a reason why, except that it's a bit too expensive for me atm, as it would be around $220 in my country for a $20 steam wallet code, which I can't afford atm. I registered for uni just today and it took a huge chunk and as soo as I got home I saw this game on sale. Classes start next month so it'd be good to play one last game before then.
Well guys, that's about it, thanks for reading and have a nice day ;)
The game on Steam @ $9.99
i think the GOTY edition comes with all the dlc but I'm not sure ;/
peace
