Third time's the charm, isn't it?

Hi! I am looking for my next RPG adventure and I believe Witcher 3 is the best single-player RPG out there and would love to play it. Even though it is on sale the game still cost a lot, and I realize that. However, because of reasons listed below I think it is still worth the money and I hope you do too!

This will be my last chance to get the game before the sale ends. I will definitely give back if it goes through!

Witcher 3

This game was made by the excellent people over at CD Projekt Red, a polish game development studio. They also made the previous Witcher games and are currently developing Gwent, a Witcher card game, as well as Cyberpunk 2077. They have a history of making fantastic games and this is their biggest hit so far.

The Witcher series are based on a series of fantasy novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, totally worth checking out if you love fantasy in the slightest!

in Witcher 3 you play as Geralt of Rivia, a witcher. Witchers are a type of humans, but with extraordinary abilities. Think Aragorn, but with magic. You getting my drift?

They begin training at a young age and continue to do so until they are old. They develop supernatural abilities that aids them, both in combat and in ordinary life. This is true for Geralt as well. You have the option to use swords, bows, magic and more in-game which allows for numerous play styles.

Why this game then? I love open-world and RPG games. This game combines these genres and does so in style. The game stands out because of its numerous awards and good criticism in the gaming community. It is commonly refereed to as the best single-player experience out there. The graphics are also out of this world. The game is extraordinary beautiful, specially on the highest settings. Thanks to great optimization the game runs great which allows you to enjoy the game the way it is meant to be played. I have heard that it takes hundreds of hours to complete the game which makes my really happy! I love to 100% games and explore every area possible in the world.

To summarize the game: Witcher 3 has fantastic reviews, a great story line, looks gorgeous and has a lot of content. Both in the main game and in the form of DLC. CD Projekt Red really put their heart into this, their baby, and it shows.

I haven't watched a lot of gameplay because I love to go in blind and learn the hard way.

Why I love these type of games

The reason I am specially found of the open-world games is because they enable you, the player, to affect the world through your decisions, even more so than conventional games. For example, I loved receiving emails in the Mass Effect series from someone I saved, or affected in a positive way. Those moments really make a game shine and makes you feel involved.

I recently played Fallout 4 and was disappointed of its lack of RPG elements. The dialogue was pretty bad and it felt like the settlement part took up a huge part of the game, something I did not sign up for. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game in itself and I plan to revisit it to complete the DLC, but it just isn't the RPG I am currently looking for.

I try to check out every good open world game there is and have played lots in the past. Some favorites include, but are not limited to: Minecraft, Mass Effect, Far Cry, Just cause, Fallout, GTA, Rust and more. I like to mix single player and multi player open world games. You usually don't get the story in games like GTA but you still get the huge open world and the sense of exploration and freedom.

Last words

The Steam summer sale is upon us! I will have a lot of spare time this summer and I would love to spend some of it in Witcher 3. I will obviously try to be active outside too when the weather is good, but after a long day in the sun you feel tired and want to sit down. That's when games come in handy.
