Hey. It's been a while.

I've been busy but I've always been meaning to come back here to do some giveaways. And I will. Once I get this job 100% solidified. (which might take weeks....)

So just today, Valve decided to release a new Battlepass. Which just like CSGO Battlepasses give you a SHITLOAD of awesome items AND amazing quests so you can even earn more legendary items.

By paying $10 you get a lot (like a lot) of awesome loot and you get to help support the prize pool for the Internationals.

The Internationals is the biggest Dota 2 competition yearly. All the teams from all over the world show up to compete in what's basically the "World Cup" of Dota 2. It's amazingly handled and I have a blast watching it.

So by paying $10 you add more money to the prize pool. As of writing this request the prize pool is $1,866,058

$1,866,058 AND without a doubt double that.

That's what these teams are competing for.

Here's what you get by just paying $10.

• New evolving courier.

Couriers are little pet like things in Dota 2 that go to the shop for you and picks up items that you buy and brings them to you. Now. Dota 2's had some really awesome and cute couriers over the years. But this is the first (to my knowledge) that evolves as the game goes on. So that's like.... 3x cooler than a regular courier.

• Seasonal terrain

So Valve got a little greedy this past year and decided that they wanted to charge for map skins. But you don't get to keep them. Oh no. You can only use the map skins while the Battlepass is active (~2 months). In return the map skins are quality and look absolutely amazing. They change the way the map looks and since it's spring time they've decided to go with beautiful sakura flowers. I just absolutely love the vibrant calming color scheme that they chose to use.

• Weather Effects

Just like the map skins this one affects the weather. And I have never gotten to use a weather effect yet in my nearly 400 hours of playing Dota2. And that just really excites me. I don't know what they look like but I'm excited.

• Music Pack

The music for Dota doesn't get the praise it deserves sometimes. I have the music pack for last years Internationals and it's great. Music packs allow you to change the music that plays on the battlefield when you're playing the game.

"Well why don't you just listen to music while you play?"

Because Music packs are intertwined within the game. So if a fight is going hectic in the river and it's getting really intense, the music actually starts to get intense. It'll get louder and more exciting to match the pace of the game. When the game is boring and nothing fun is happening the music is in the background just waiting for a fight to start.

• Taunts, Emotes, Hud, Cursors, Loading Screens, Effigies, Announcer packs, and more

There are a LOT more tiny tiny stuff included such as new emotes that you can spam during the game.

A new HUD to make your screen look snazzier.

A cursor pack to make your mouse snazzier

Loading screen to make your wait times snazzier.

Effigies to make your base snazzier.

Announcer packs to make your announcements...

snazzier.

All these small things included are amazing bonuses just for the initial $10.

So you're asking for $10 just for cosmetics?

Well. Kinda.

You see.

The battlepasses are unique in that, they're not just straight up cosmetic DLCs.

No.

Everytime you win a game you gain points.

Everytime you bet on a game you gain points.

Everytime you open a present you gain points.

Everytime you finish a quest you gain points.

Now... What do points do?

Points allow you to level up your battlepass and....

GAIN MORE STUFF!

You can earn more cosmetics and awesome stuff JUST by winning games and being a good player!

The last battlepass I was the highest level among everyone on my friends list. Even /u/antiweakz (aka. DreamKiller) didn't have anything on me. I was around 15 levels higher than him and only 10 levels away from the max of 60.

You can even ask him. Last year I finished all the quests in the battlepass. Every single one. I earned all 4 exclusive skins for completing the questlines.

• What are quests?

Quests are another way to earn a lot of points. Each quest is fairly unique such as "Get 3 kills before 10 minutes" or "Place down 20 wards in the one game". And they're frustrating to finish. They are oh so frustrating. I remember I sat here for 3 days trying to get ONE quest done and ended up asking my friends who are better players to carry me so that I can get it over with.

But god if I didn't love doing them. The sense of acomplishment in a game gets me going.

• Immortals and Treasures

Just like CSGO has their boxes and TF2 has crates. Dota 2 has Treasures. Except unlike those 2 games, in Dota 2 you don't need a key to open treasures. Now, I did some shitty math and it's possible to get around 20-30 treasures JUST from leveling to the max with this battlepass. And treasures are around $3 each. So if I do nothing but play Dota 2 for the next month or so, I can earn nearly $80. Given that I reach the max level. (Which is hard to do). Of course the Steam market is fickle so prices will rise and fall, but that's just my really shitty estimate (someone's going to call me out and do the actual math....).

Now what are in those treasures?

Sets. Otherwise known as skins.

Now sets have rarities. The more creative ones being more rare, harder to get, and more expensive.

Opening a treasure gives you a chance of getting some rare stuff.

Except.

Since this is such a big even (The Internationals) Valve has added some new stuff to the mix.

Immortals.

What do Immortals do?

They're special items (sometimes even golden) that change the way your heroes abilities look.

They usually go for upwards of $5 for the good ones. The rarest being around $1000

Now by opening these treasures during this big event. You have the chance of getting these Immortals.

Not shitty lottery chances. But like, an actual chance.

And they just look panty dropping amazing this year.

• Why can't I get it?

Well, originally one of the mods here /u/TheAzureDragon said he was going to get it for me (as a friend). But honestly, I feel really bad asking him for it. He's a really hard worker and he's always looking out for me. He's a real friend despite us never meeting irl. And I respect him for everything he's done for me.

So instead of being a bad friend and asking him to buy it for me, I come to you the community. Hoping that I can gain this incredible Battlepass. For only $10. For $10 you can potential give me over $100 worth of amazing exclusive items.
