[Request] Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition

Post Body

Hey guys.

Some of you may know me, most of you don't. But everyone I know on the internet calls me Po.

I've been playing games for quite a while now like most of you and like (hopefully) all of you I really like playing games.

"Well no duh Po. Get to the point already!"

I happen to really like games by a small indie company that not many people have heard of, Blizzard. Blizzard's made small indie hits like Starcraft (1 and 2), the Warcraft series, a forgettable mmorpg called World of Wizards... or is it World of Warlocks..... anyways.

Joking aside, Blizzard is (in my opinion) one of the monoliths among game studios. They've made amazing games (for the most part) and their well known for how amazing and in depth their worlds are (not talking about their stories.....). Personally I've been a huge fan of their big 3, Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo. Warcraft 3 ( Frozen Throne), Starcraft ( Broodwars), and Diablo 2 ( Lord of Destruction) are all tied for first place in Po's favorite games list.

Instead of writing out a whole long sob story on how these 3 games are a huge part of my past, I'll try to summarize that part so that we can get to the good part where I talk about Diablo 3.

Here we go.

My brother was a huge Blizzard fan. I used to watch him play Warcraft III and Starcraft all the time on the family computer. Whenever I was given a chance to play I would be really bad and lose the game. We used to fight a lot but he was always really nice when it came to teaching me how to play. Fast forward to the end of 8th grade and my brother leaves. The day of his leaving I found a battlechest for Starcraft labeled for me. It was his final gift.

Starcraft has been a huge part of my life (Not just because I'm asian...) and it's still one of the few games that I'll jump on when my old Starcraft buddies email me (yes we email) if I want to play. The highspeed intensity of battle and giving commands to troops is something that I've only really found in Starcraft (I generally tend to stay away from other RTS games so I know there's going to be at least one person who says " But Po you're wrong because Company of Heroes and Homeworld and Age of Empires and Command and Conquer and and and and...". Yes I know all those RTS games are classic and many people love them but I have no interest in them so for me Starcraft will always remain my favorite. ps. I hated Planetary Annihilation).

Recently I've been playing a lot of Dota 2 (thanks to /u/TheAzureDragon) and I remembered how I played the original Defense of the Ancients in Warcraft III (note. I played it. Was not good. But I did play it) and that got me thinking about Diablo II.

Now, Diablo II is an amazing game.

In fact, it's right here in this subreddit, one year ago that a really nice person bought me Diablo II and the Expac for it. Link

I had never played it before that and I was really excited to play it and pretend that I played it growing up. And it was a hell of a ride (get it. Hell. Diablo. heh). I have beat the game close to 10 times since last year (6 of them with friends. We each went different characters) and it's safe to say that the Necromancer is my favorite character (Skeletons 4 lyfe). The game is just amazing and atmospheric.

I talk about playing Path of Exile in that request way back then and yes. It's still a good game and the devs deserve so much credit for making one of the best f2p games ever. Everything in Path of Exile is free, except clan chests and cosmetics. The game is one of the best grind fests I have played and for a while I was pretty content with it being a spiritual successor to Diablo II.

This is where the pointless rant begins

Yesterday I got a 1 game low priority queue for Dota 2.

Not for being toxic.

Not for intentionally feeding.

Partially for being an idiot.

But mostly because of the wonders that is NA East servers for Dota 2.

Now in Dota 2 if a teammate leaves the game (intentionally) you are also allowed to leave penalty free. If they disconnect (internet problems, computer problems, problems) you can pause the game and wait for them to return and they do not get penalized (because accidents happen).

So the day before I had intentionally left the game. Purely my fault btw. I forgot I had to go pick something up and in my haste, I turned off my laptop midway through a dota 2 game. Yes that was shitty of me to do and if I had gotten Low Priority Queue for that I deserved it.

But no. (here's the rant section)

I got a Low Priority Queue because of a Peruvian.

"Po you keep saying Low Priority Queue. What is it?"

Low Priority Queue means that you are forced to play with other "bad" (not like bad as in they don't know how to play the game. Bad as in they're toxic, leavers, mean, and/or get reported a lot) players. And the only way to leave LPQ is to win games in LPQ, which means if you're trash at the game like me, you have a long way to go before you get out of LPQ...

Anyways, little ol' Po, yesterday, queuing up for his 12th game of dota that day. He get's into a game. US East server. Nice. 40 ping.

And then the nightmare begins.

Right off the bat in hero select one of our teammates says something in Spanish (i think?). Eh. That kinda sucks (because communication is key in dota) but whatever, it happens a lot. The US East servers get a LOT of peruvians and hispanics (because they get lower ping than they do on the Peru server.... also the Peru server is apparently full of awful people) and often times it's annoying at most. I've had my share of awful teammates (usually Peruvians....) but everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. So this guy on my team autolocks in a hero that can teleport (Nature's Prophet). Whatever. Let's just play.

5 minutes into the game and he has already given them 3 kills.

Ok. Maybe he's just bad.

So the next time I see him teleporting I check to see where he's going.

He had been teleporting right into the enemy base and intentionally dying to them....

All while spamming "jajajajajajajajaja" and "v" in the chat.

This wasn't a teammate who didn't know how to play. This was a teammate who was going out of his way to ruin our team's day. He was intentionally giving them free kills and laughing about it.

Now this was a pattern that I saw quite often among Peruvian players (keep in mind not all of them.). They would troll and spam chat with "jajajajajajajjajaa" and generally be an annoyance. I'm sure not all Peruvians are like this and I've just been unlucky. But I can see now why the Peru servers have no players....

Anyways. This player continues doing this for a while. And I'm getting tired of his bullshit. So I tell my team that I will take the fall and to please report him. And I purposely leave the game so that my teammates can also leave penalty free. In return for this valiant act of sacrifice Valve gave me 1 game of Low Priority (remember. you can't leave until you win a game). Like I said I did partially deserve it for leaving a game the day before, but now I have taken to a hatred for Peruvians in Dota 2 and will support Donald Trump so that he can create a big firewall for Dota 2 servers, force the Peruvians back on their side, and make them pay for it. /s

End of pointless rant

Frustrated with Dota 2, I thought I would pop into Diablo II and fuck around for a bit.

And I realized that Blizzard let's you demo their games up until a certain level. (You can finish most of Act 1 for Diablo III in this case).

So I was curious to see how Diablo III plays, I downloaded the trial.

And

I

had

a

blast...

At this time I have beaten the trial with 3 characters (Wizard, Barbarian, and Demon Hunter) and I plan on beating it with the remaining 3 (unless a kind soul gifts me the game that is).

It's weird to say but I really really liked it. It was really fun. The atmosphere was all there, the gameplay. The game in general so so enjoyable.

The game is definitely a bit more simple than Path of Exile (which is basically a numbers game) and that is big for me. I don't want to play another game where if I fuck up my teammates will be sad (aka every Online multiplayer game). I just want to have fun.

I play Heroes of the Storm (the Blizzard MOBA). So I'm like 40% familiar with how the Wizard works. (and she's fairly fun).

But yeah. I played quite a bit of the demo version of the game (estimate around 4-5 hours) and I enjoyed it a lot.

Gameplay

The gameplay for Diablo 3 is (obviously) where it shines the most (next to the atmosphere). With it's semi top down camera angle, you can survey the environment around you and play accordingly. All the spells in the game are customizable through runes that give them different effects (bigger AOE, freezing effect, more bombs). A smart player will rotate through their spells effectively and a not so smart player will mash their face on the keyboard hoping that they kill things.

Spell rotation is fairly important in Diablo because to maximize your dps you need to find the most effective way to wave clear and protect yourself from the stronger creeps. (btw please never say this in public if you want girls to like you)

Each class is unique in their own way (just like your middleschool teacher told you that you were unique in your own way). And each class plays fairly differently. The Wizard is a long range nuker who's good at... well. nuking. The monk fights with their fists and buffs and protects allies.

I actually only have 1 Starcraft friend who would be willing to start Diablo III from the beginning to play with me but I am completely fine with that. I'll most likely try to make friends while playing or just play alone.

Music

Like all their games, Blizzard really nails the music.

Link for the curious

It really captures a sense of dread and doom that the demon king Diablo is supposed to represent. The dark and dreary music just makes the game so much easier to get encaptured in.

Graphics

Probably one of the biggest reasons why I am requesting this game now instead of my original plan to wait until i finished building my PC. Recently I came across some money (by selling personal things) and it came down to about $280. That's not enough to really build a good computer. But my internet friends came in clutch and donated their spare parts so that I can build a PC that can run things much much much better than I can right now on my laptop. They are giving me a monitor, a graphics card, motherboard, PSU. And I am so grateful for them. However, the plans started to crumble when one of my friends messaged me a couple hours ago saying that I would need to wait a bit because he doesn't have the funds to send me the parts.

" le_meh [7:17 PM] Sorry to hit you with some reality but I can't afford shipping on your stuff so I have to wait until I get some funds"

And that put a huge damper on my plans because all the other parts have arrived but he was the one who was sending me the monitor, motherboard, and PSU. But since I am extremely grateful for everything they have done for me it would be fucked up to complain about a problem like this. So I thanked him again and said to take his time.

I was planning on requesting this game when I finished the PC build so that I can talk about how it will be the first game that I run on high. But given that the game runs very well on low on my laptop (~40 fps) I thought that while I wait for the parts to arrive (give or take a month.... T.T) I can distract myself with Diablo III. 40 FPS isn't that bad and the game still looks wonderful.

Online

You can play through the whole campaign with a friend (Coop)

And there is PVP.

I'm excited to see how PVP works in Diablo III and I know for a fact that somewhere down the road I will get frustrated with it. But from gameplay that I've watched it looks fun and exciting.

Overall

Overall I really do love Diablo II and everything that Blizzard has made (yes. I have played the Lost Vikings. Red Viking is best Viking) and I would really love to be able to experience the entirety of Diablo III. And to do so I have heard that the expansion pack for the base game, Reaper of Souls is a must. Many people were disappointed with Diablo III at release. But after the release of the expansion pack Reaper of Souls, I heard that a lot of people were pleased at the changes and the removal of the auction house. The expansion alone adds around 5 hours of gameplay (and that's if you run through the whole thing without actually playing it) but I intend to spend a lot more time on it.

I intend to spend around 200 hours in Diablo III. The last request that I had fulfilled was my SMITE Ultimate God Pack request and from the time that I was gifted the God Pack I have added over 80 hours into the game. I really do enjoy the games that I request and I hope that it shows when I request them. I have yet to beat Dark Souls II: SotFS but I do have 30 hours into it and I am still stuck on the 3 spear fuckers boss. (inb4 jaska or james comment git gud). But I love Dark Souls II.

I really don't want to go that into depth on why I can't afford this right now but the shortest version I can give is that all my spare money has gone into this computer build.

Here is a link to the game on the Blizzard site. I will gladly give you my email if you are gracious enough to decide to gift this to me. It's $40, which is a lot to ask people for but I would really love to play this game.

However, it is possible to buy it off of G2A here where it IS $10 cheaper. I would like it if it was bought off of the Blizzard site to fully support them for making this game. BUT beggars can not be choosers. I will still gladly accept it if it was bought off of G2A.

I don't know what to post for my info but my battle.net account is DankHorse#1373.

and Steam too i guess?

Thank you so much for reading this request. As usual if you think that the request deserves an upvote I will not stop you. ;)

Hopefully, this might be the last time I ever request on this sub because I have been looking for a job close to my apartment, and if I ever do find one I won't be on this subreddit to request but to fulfill requests.

Again thank you all for supporting each other as gamers and sharing kindness.

As always,

Po. <3

Edit: as of right now I am no longer in low priority queue. To leave LPQ you must win a game in LPQ (which is hell to do). If the whole enemy team or your whole team leaves the game does not count and you must restart. I just won a game where the entire enemy team left and only ONE person on their team stayed. He stayed so that my team could win the game and leave LPQ. HungryForHorses your sacrifice will be noted and thank you for helping me escape that hellhole. You will not be forgotten.
