Hello everyone, I'm new here and Reddit in general, but glad i found this community! And this is my first request, so i am not sure if it's good enough. I am Greek so please excuse any grammatical or spelling mistakes. I am currently in college 2nd year studying IT, software is what i am mostly interested in. As a side project i am making a 2D jrpg with the intent of a deep world which is full of things you can do and more importantly do them your way. Hopefully one day it will be complete and will be able to release it (for free most likely). From quite young i was interested in anything space related and toys (Lego at the time), games that allow you to create what you can think of. A friend of mine firstly introduced me to Space Engineers about 6 months back, since I've been making up excuses to visit him more often so i can play (or watch him play) this glorious game. And lately spending a lot of my spare time watching videos and streams of it.
Why this game: Amazing exploration and creative elements, you can create big and small space ships and even space stations! While you are able to explore a vast randomly generated world with comets, really big ships drifting through space which you can choose to attack for parts and even planets that were added on a recent update.
Like similar voxel games it has a creative mode with infinite resources where you can let yourself go wild and make or even recreate ships from other games and movies like this recreation of a Star Destroyer.
While in Survival mode you start with some basic tools and you need to slowly build your way up to bigger and better. Firstly starting by (preferably) making a small mining ship so you can collect more resources, while at the same time you try to survive by keeping yourself supplied with oxygen and fending off pirates. Then you can choose to proceed anyway you want, you can make an attack space ship to try and raid the NPC ships that travel through space, build a space station, find a planet to colonize or make a ship that is capable of "jumping" (FTL speed in a way) and explore.
Why me: I am currently in college and although i work part time it's not enough to acquire goodies (mainly games) and sustain myself. A few months ago i did try buying Space Engineers while it was on sale, turns out i was unable to add funds on my Steam account due to Capital Control in Greece that is still in effect to some extend.
Here is my Steam and the game in case you are interested yourselves.
Thank you for reading my request!
