Hello all, it seems to be the done thing to introduce oneself - so here goes.
I'm a resident on a little known island called Great Britain, in the very north of a county called Cumbria. It's a magical place, filled to the brim with Wizards and grass and mudhuts and Artifacts of Power.
I've been gaming since I was given my first computer, a homely ZX Spectrum which I used to play such graphical powerhouses as Jet Set Willy, Treasure Island Dizzy and Bomb Jack.
Family Holidays used to be my greatest highlight, seeing games like Golden Axe and Rampage with all their actual colours was a sight to behold. SNK and Capcom were absolute powerhouses, and I spent many a coin on TMNT and Metal Slug. These games got me hooked on difficulty - when every life cost you, you were damn sure to get good.
I moved on from there with the SNES and fell in love. Too many good games to mention, although big shout out to Unirally (UniRacers) for being a truly wonderful hidden gem.
Over the years I've owned every console ever produced, and the Dreamcast is still the greatest console ever made. True facts.
Over the years though, the PC has always been my mainstay since I got my first one at the grand old age of 16, a Hewlett Packard monster with a whopping 4gb of RAM. It could play Civnet like a boss and it introduced me to the wonderful world of Bullfrog and the wonderful Chris Sawyer.
Over the years, I've spent time writing for music and gaming websites, and even ran my own for a short while (although never had the time to fully commit). This did wonders for my Steam library over the years - but also filled it with unquestionable belch.
My tastes in everything are varied, but with games it tends to boil down to mechanics - I favour the way a game feels over story every time, and I've a huge soft spot for Bemani / Arcade / Management games in particular, which is probably an odd mix.
Also, I have 3 Cats. Bye.
