I've been playing a lot of Europa Universalis IV lately, I've logged in exactly 61 hours of gameplay since I activated the game on December 20th of 2014, which was about two weeks ago. I actually have more hours on it than I do on Civ V, 49 hours compared to my 61 hours on EU4, which is pretty amazing, since I got Civ V way back in July. EU4 just has that certain spark that draws me into it, and has had me hooked for the last two weeks.
Europa Universalis is a fantastic game, a magical time-sink, and I love playing it. I have all of the major expansions sans one, Art of War. The expansion pack was named after Sun Tzu's world renown book on warfare, and it's likely the most comprehensive and in-depth expansion pack made for Europa Universalis IV so far.
One of the major features of the expansion pack is that significantly it expands upon the diplomacy feature within the game, which is one of my favourite parts of the game, negotiating with highly stubborn & confusing artificial intelligence. All kidding aside, it allows you to make military-vassals, transfer occupation to allies, make client states, all of that good stuff, many of which would sound like excessive nit-picking to you if you haven't played EU4 yet.
All of these improvements on diplomacy are very helpful, there's been a lot of times that an ally manages to occupy the province that I declared war over, yet I couldn't annex it for myself in a peace deal because my ally had started sieging it with their army first. With the Art of War expansion, your ally can transfer province occupations to you, with valid reason and enough incentive.
I know that the expansion pack is fairly new, but I've dedicated many hours into the base game so far (relatively), and I plan on playing a lot more EU4. If you'd be kind enough to even further improve my enjoyment with EU4, then I would love you forever and ever, or at least until I get sucked back into the game :)
