A re-do, since my previous request went unfilled :)
There's this game called Europa Universalis IV, a long-winded game that looks like something your middle school Social Studies teacher would call "fun", but is actually a lot of fun, despite the accountant-level of number-crunching that you need to do, just to paint a map in a specific colour. Which, may I remind you, is something that you can easily do in 10 seconds on Paint. Either way, doing map-art is so much more satisfying in EU4 than it is to partake in within Paint.
The company that made and produced EU4, Paradox, has made a bunch of other games, but there's one particular beauty that catches my eye, Crusader Kings 2. Crusader Kings 2 looks similar to the aforementioned game, but there's one key difference. The leaders in EU4 have almost no personality, besides this little button next to their name that if you move your cursor over it, states if they're diplomatic, military oriented, and basic stuff like that.
From what I can see, Crusader Kings II takes a completely different approach, you the player take actual control over the characters in the game, you control who they marry, when to go to war, and etc. I've always been a fan of role-playing games, and strategy games, so it seems like Crusader Kings II was made for me. Also, the game looks hilarious out-of-context, if that's a valid reason for wanting it.
If anybody's feeling really generous this New Year's Day, then hit me up :)
