[REQUEST][STEAM] Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice - GOTY Edition (50% Sale - 30€) (third-ish attempt kind of)

Post Body

Good day everyone, hope you're having a great week so far!

So, if you look at my profile you will see, this is my third request in quite a short amount of time (I have manually closed the other two), but they're not exactly for the same game, but kind of.

This time I'll start with the technicalities for whatever reason:

The game in question: Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice - GOTY Edition

My personal steam profil: Voit Peak

Why you do that you greedy bonehead

First there was Elden Ring. I thought "yay newest, best, not the hardest".
Shortly after, Steam did a sale of the Dark Souls Trilogy and I thought "damn, okay, maybe a sign to get one of the forefathers of the genre" and Dark Souls III seemed to be the best entry. So I closed the Elden Ring request and started a new one.

Right before the sale ended, I was looking into my library and at the games I recently also bought on hefty discounts, tried for a short time and didn't enjoy, so I decided, I'd refund them and use the money to get... Dark Souls. Not 3, the first one. It was a little cheaper, Also seemed like a good and beginner friendly entry and I realised it might be better to start with the actual first one (that isn't a PS exclusive). So again I closed the request, bought the game for the 20 bucks I just got back, played it a for while, left a negative review and continued playing because I can't stop even though there's a lot of annoying gameplay stuff, which is not the difficulty... I swear! And after I farmed like 300k souls and overleveled.. a little... doing a little fashion souls and now I'm having an even more excellent time! I probably have to change my review at some point haha.

So, why now asking for Sekiro?

Because even tho I have mixed feelings about Dark Souls, I'm quite sure that every successor is improved, a lot of fun and I really want to play all of them! Games like Sekiro or Elden Ring also have the advantage of not being part of the Dark Souls lore.... at least I guess so? Nevertheless, Sekiro is combining 2 things I really like: Being a souls-like and also being asien/japanese history/mythology. A game has anything japanese that isn't crazy anime characters (I like anime, but not too much in games for some reason) or a screen overflowing with numbers and special effects? Count me in. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is one of my absolute favourite games to this day. Played it with japanese voice over and 100 it and I still love to play it. Sadly, at least as far as I know, there aren't too many good games that are set in japanese history and being on the more serious spectrum and are available on PC. So Sekiro seems like a perfect game for me. I know it's considered to be one of the hardest FromSoftware games, but I'm ready for the challenge! And I also hope if I'm able to conquer this game, I will master every other game!

But you bought Dark Souls, why not buy this as well?

Funny enough, I actually might do that, simply because of FoM and kind of a buying addiction that is in place as a avoidance behavior due to my depression and anxiety. The problematic part here is that I currently have no job for like 2-3 years now and therefore my financial resources are limited. Gladly, this will change next month, so finally a paycheck at the end of october!

Okay, easy, wait for your paycheck and then buy

That's another scenario that might happen if I'm able to control myself until then. The main reasons I'd like to get it in september are the current sale and the time I have at hand right now. I'm basically just waiting for the job to start. The only thing I need to do besides that is looking for a new apartment in the city I'm going to work in in the future, but since I will mostly work remote, I'm not stressed about that yet... probably not a good thing. At least I stopped gaming 12h a day (no joke, after Shadow Gambit and Blasphemous 2 were released I had a playtime of 180h in roughly 2 weeks. I know I have a problem. First thing I'm going to look for in the new city is going to be a Therapist.

Wouldn't it be better then to not get a new game to get addicted to?

Probably yes. But in reality, I will find some game to put my time into. Some indie games I have in my library and never played for example. Maybe installing Skyrim again, or starting a new character in Dark Souls. While I still play way too much, I actually play less than when I had my MMO/Online phases. I also spend way less money (I'm actually glad that I don't know how much money and time I spent in World of Tanks...). What I want to say with that, I'm going to spend a lot of time gaming anyway. But as I said, Sekiro seems like a perfect addition to my library and is currently on sale. It felt quite uncomfortable asking for a full price AAA title at first (Elden Ring). I mean it's still weird to ask stranger to gift an expensive videogame to another stranger (we could still chat and/or add each other on steam though :) ).

Final Words

First of all, as always, thank you so much for reading all of this! I really appreciate you taking the time doing this! And even if you skipped to here, I'm still grateful :D

I'm not the best at stuff like this, especially when I have to provide reasoning without a logical/scientific base to support it, if that makes sense. In the end it's just a game I would love to play, but that I'm currently not ready to buy by myself.

Okay, well, again thank you, I hope you're having a great rest of the week! :)
