What is Yakuza series about?

The Yakuza series is a popular and critically acclaimed video game franchise created by Sega. It is known for its immersive storytelling, action-packed gameplay, and vibrant open-world environments which takes place in Japan.

The gameplay in the Yakuza series combines elements of action, exploration, and role-playing. Players can freely roam the city streets, interact with NPCs, engage in side quests, and experience the richly detailed urban setting. Combat is a prominent feature, offering a mix of hand-to-hand brawling, weapon-based combat, and powerful finishing moves. The series also incorporates various mini-games and activities, including arcade games, gambling, karaoke, and more.

Each installment in the Yakuza series offers a self-contained narrative, but they are connected through recurring characters and overarching storylines. The series gained a dedicated fan base for its engrossing storytelling, memorable characters, deep character development, and a perfect blend of serious drama and humorous moments.

Why I would like the game:

The Yakuza series follows the life of Kazuma Kiryu, a former member of the yakuza (Japanese organized crime) who becomes embroiled in various criminal conflicts and dramatic events. The story spans several decades, exploring themes of loyalty, honor, betrayal, and redemption. Kiryu is a complex and iconic protagonist who fights for justice in the criminal underworld while trying to protect those he cares about. I really like Kiryu's character in the past games that I played briefly (I used to play the PS2 version).

The gameplay is also very fun, it combines elements of action, exploration, and role-playing. The Yakuza Bundle that I requested contains 3 games (Yakuza 0 - Yakuza Kiwami 2) which is a prequels and the remake of the first two Yakuza games, I think this bundle is a great way for me to get started on this series again.
