I would like to request Planet Zoo.

I consider myself a very well-rounded gamer and love to try new genres or games in series I typically don’t play. I really enjoy playing action, platform, and rpgs the most but once in a while I like to dabble in something new. Simulation games are among that list and the only game I have ever played in that genre is Sims. I have heard of Planet Zoo and how it is similar to Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution but instead you are running a zoo. These types of games look so interesting but I always felt intimidated because of how complex they look. As someone who loves animals, Planet Zoo caught more of my attention and recently I have been reading up on the game and watching gameplay videos because it has caught my curiosity.

What really caught my eye about Planet Zoo is the level of customization and creativity that you can inject into these games. You get to customize buildings and decide the layout, the color, type of material used and create some really interesting buildings as well as the habitats that each animal lives in. Even though someone like myself is not as creative, I can definitely see myself spending tons of hours just choosing the layout for each zoo and habitat. The game is generous enough to also include preset structures while also allowing you to add extra details, making each creation unique.

The game also has a creation shop where the community can share their own personal creations for those that simply don’t want to dabble too much in the creative aspect of the game. From what I have gathered, the community is still very active and the community is very passionate and friendly. That is great for people like me who are new comers as it helps ease us into the game. Whether you choose to make your own creations, use presets, or rely on the community, the game gives you that freedom. Did I also mention that you can create your own caves and water ecosystems?

I know I spent a little bit on the creation aspect of this game, but it is details like that that are drawing me into this game. In this game you will be enlisting the help of caretakers, vets, and mechanics to ensure that the zoo is running as intended, that animals are being taken care of, while also learning what each species likes and needs are. Each animal will need the right food and drink bowls, a mix of terrain that is suitable to them, require plants and trees that are common to their natural habitat, appropriate space to roam, swim, or climb, adequate shelter, and a pack to be able to interact with each other to satisfy their needs. You are literally the caretaker of your own personal zoo and it is up to you to create a zoo that will attract visitors because at the end of the day it is all about the money haha.

The game offers four different game modes which are, career (used as a tutorial), challenge (where you are tasked with specific tasks you must complete, franchise (which lets you create an interconnected zoo that spans across the globe, and Sandbox mode (where you get to customize and create your very own unique zoo and run wild.

I have been looking for a game where I can sink hundreds of hours into that allows me to relax when I want to, or to challenge me when I need it. The idea of managing and creating your own zoo has me so excited with the limitless potential and I look forward to letting my imagination loose. It sounds overwhelming and stressful as I am sure it is, but that also makes it challenging.

On the other end though, when I want to relax I can just see what the animals are up to and observe them interacting with the each other, playing within the habitats, and behaving in a realistic way. What’s so great about this game is that the visuals are very good and depending on how detailed the habitats are, it can almost look like these animals are actually in the wild. As someone who loves animals and seeing how they act in the wild, this is such an amazing and peaceful way to relax.

Planet Zoo is like a love letter to people who love animals and are looking for a game that has infinite replay value.
