Hello Gog and good afternoon,
I would like to request Hogwarts Legacy.
I would dare to say that for many, Harry Potter is a series that inspired so many imaginations and brought the magical world closer to home with every book, movie, and even those cheesy video game movie tie-ins from PS2. For me it started with the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, back when it released and ever since then I was hooked.
I was in fourth grade and I remember walking into the grocery store with my mom at Stop & Shop when we passed the little book section they had where the 1st 2 books were on display. My mom knew that I liked to read so she had purchased both of them. I read the 2nd book first because I liked the art cover much more than the first one, and that was the start of the wizarding world for me. As I read each word, sentence, and page, my mind could clearly see what was going on as if a movie had been playing in my head. All spells that were casted, creatures they came across, adventures under the invisible cloak, and quidditch matches that Harry Potter experienced, I too had experienced them in my mind as if I was alongside him.
Harry Potter brought me so much joy especially as a kid because I would spend countless hours with my imagination creating the same scenarios I had read about. I might have even asked my mom a few times if quidditch was a real thing but to my disappointment it only existed within the books. I remember countless times grabbing the broom pretending that I was flying through the air or playing quidditch with friends. It was such an amazing time and I would never have experienced those things if it hadn't been for my mom buying me the 1st 2 books.
I became fascinated with Harry Potter and surely enough when I had finished reading the 2nd book, I gravitated towards the 1st one and continued to read because I wanted to know about Harry Potter and what this world was all about. I loved that the character was young just like me and how he had discovered that his life wasn't this boring, lifeless mess under the closet stairs. He was a wizard and he belonged to a world he had no idea existed. As each book released, I would always ask my mother to buy it for me and each time I would engulf myself within the pages reading sometimes for hours.
Naturally when the movie released, I had to go see it and it didn't let me down. Seeing platform 9 3/4, the chocolate frogs, Ron and Hermione, Dumbledore, the flying motorcycle, and the creatures come to life was such a fantastical moment for me. When the movie finished, I found myself satisfied and hoped that the other books would be adopted to film as well. As each released, I would go and see them.
As a gamer, I also wanted to experience the world of Harry Potter because video games do such an amazing job letting gamers experience and interact with a world in ways that a book or movie can't. I remember playing the first 2 games with my sister, who isn't much of a gamer, but because we both enjoyed Harry Potter so much, we decided to play those together. It was so fun being able to control Harry casting spells, creating potions, playing quidditch and living out what story that I had read. I only ever played the 1st 2 games as by the time the 3rd one had released, I became much more interested in shooters and rpgs. My taste in games were changing but also expanding and while I really enjoyed the 1st 2 games, I felt they were limited compared to the other games.
I always knew that there was so much untapped potential within Harry Potter but there wasn't a game that quite captured that. Cue Hogwarts Legacy that was supposed to be this huge game that took place in the world of Harry Potter. It would be before the events of Harry Potter and set during the 1800's where you would role play as a student. You play as a created character who is a 5th year at Hogwarts and you actually get to take part in classes, practice combat arts, fly on a broom, and explore the castle outside and inside. When the trailer was first revealed, I know many such myself were ecstatic because there was finally a game that would be able to let you live out the experience of Harry Potter on a much bigger scale.
All the gameplay videos that were shown up until release left me wondering if the game would live up to the expectations of the fans but also meet the standards of a good game. Once all the reviews started to come in as well as the usersโ reviews, my hopes were set on high because finally there was a game set in the world of Harry Potter that lived up to the expectations of the fans but also was a really good game in of itself.
I'm a huge gamer and I love to play all types of games be it from shooters to racing games. I've been able to enjoy so many games over the years that have sent me on some amazing journeys some being Halo Combat Evolved, The Last of Us, and Breath of Fire 3 just to name a few. I would love to be able to play and experience a game such as this and cannot wait to be able to explore the castle and school grounds in a way that no other previous Harry Potter game has been able to achieve. As A fan of the series, it's been a long wait and I'm just grateful that someone decided to passion and love into a series that many grew up with and have cherished.
Thank you for reading and blessings.
