Gibson Sustainable series
Post Body

Hi,

I've recently come across the Gibson Sustainable series and I'm wondering if anyone has had a chance to compare the Sustainable series to the Standard series of either the Hummingbird or J-45.

Specifically, I'm wondering if the Walnut back and sides the lack of a Nitro finish significantly change the sound or if it's a more slight/moderate change in the tonal quality of the instrument. I LOVE the J-45, but I really like the look of the Sustainable and the softer Walnut would suit me as a player, so the Sustainable series might be perfect, but I'm worried about the finish affecting the sound.

Any discussion would be appreciated and welcome. Thanks!

EDIT: I purchased the Sustainable Series Hummingbird. I like it a lot. If anyone cares I'll write up my comparison to the J45 Standard. I've played them side-by-side a few times now and have a pretty good bead on my opinion... I don't feel like writing it up if no one is interested though
