A saint that does not want his name pronounced

Not the most exciting story, I hope you like it anyway... About 3 years ago (2017) I used to have this couple of college friends (Ivan & Mike) who I'd hang out a lot with, specially at nights, we used to meet at 10:00 pm and drive around the city (Mx) on Ivan's car, until 2:00 am, time when we'd go back and drop Mike.

Mike's house is in an irregular urban settlement (ppl just went and started building houses w/no permission or whatsoever) so the streets were narrow, badly illuminated and quite unsafe (Desarrollo Urbano Quetzalcóatl), since Mike's family were of the firsts settiling there (yes, irregularly...) we would be "safe" from robbery so we'd stay from 2:00 am until 3:00 am or later playing cards and chatting on the street just outside his house.

One particular night Ivan was talking about how he had gone with a "santero" (this folks that practice the cuban religion santeria) and had performed a kind of protective work on him. As he was telling us the process one street light, maybe 20 meters away, went out; this was no surprise since this happened a lot (irregular area = no public services) so he kept going with the story and yet another street lamp went out.

Still not taking care of it he kept telling what the santero had done, he said that one special saint was now taking care of him; as soon as he said the saint's name we heard "SHHT" like someone was trying to shoosh him. We all heard it but no one said anything; the story went on and the name of the saint was pronounced again, so we again heard "SHHT" but a little louder and closer and coming from the dark area where the lights had gone. We thought it as a coincidence and Ivan kept saying how good he was feeling since Changó was looking after him, and we heard it again "SHHHT!!!" this time it was louder, closer and colder (that's how it felt) and the closest street lamp to us went out.

That was the moment when we deciced it was good time to let Mike sleep and go to our respective houses. As Ivan and I are leaving the street on the car, all three lights turned on again.
